S/S 2016 Trends: Pom Poms Are Everywhere!

I love anything in white, black and grey but you will agree with me that summer has to have a bit of colour and this year I have really been trying to embrace more shades in my outfits and it is so much more fun. Which is why there is one particular trend I (alongside major fashion bloggers) am loving and that is the pom pom trend. It is very unlikely that you have not seen this all over social media and if you haven't, where have you been?! The pom pom trend has taken Instagram by a storm and it is permeating everything from accessories to footwear!

Work Summer Party: My Weekend In Photos

Gotta love when your company throws a massive summer party with tons of free food and drinks. I've now been to three parties (they are annual) and if you did not know already, I work in finance by day and blog by night. Working in finance is stressful as and I might even do a post sometime in the future explaining what a data analyst does and how my day at work looks like. But essentially this is the way the company thanks us for our hard work, by having massive (and I really mean massive) summer parties and one would have to be stupid not to turn up, right?!

Summer Holiday: My Poolside Essentials

With my holiday a mere month away - and a day but who's counting - it's time to sort out my stuff and decide on what I'm actually going to take. And let me tell you, for someone who excessively over packs, this is a tough one. Amidst the different pairs of bikini (even though I will most likely stick to only wearing one), roughly ten very similar dresses (out of which 6 will return unused) and the many pairs of shoes (Havaianas will miraculously go with any outfit), I have to leave room for my poolside essentials. And I call these poolside essentials because I am much more of a pool kinda girl than a beach bunny. Don't get me wrong, I love exploring and finding new beaches but the mixture of being wet and sand doesn't appeal to me in the slightest so thank goodness for the swimming pool in the villa we rented out; if you need me I will be lazing around there in my pretty flamingo floater. Here's what I'm taking to make sunbathing time more fun and fashionable!

What NOT To Wear To A Wedding (EVER!)

Wedding season is well and truly upon us and engagement parties as well as wedding invitations are flowing in. Weddings are fun and the perfect excuse to dress up which is something I love. The last wedding I attended was last year, in Cyprus and a lot of thought went into my outfit which you can see here. I wanted something summery and flowery, due to the near inferno temperatures, yet not overly flashing; nobody wants to outshine the bride. Choosing something appropriate for a wedding is hard but a MUST, regardless of whether it is a back yard or church wedding. You may have seen in the news the story about a woman wearing (in my opinion) a tiny body-con dress to a summer wedding and being bullied by other guests (read story here). And whilst bullying is totally unacceptable, I do find find her outfit to be very inappropriate for the occasion, no matter how hot the day may have been. Sure, every wedding is different and for a beach one you may get away with something a little shorter, but there are simply outfits you should NEVER, I repeat never wear to a wedding and today I wanna talk about these.

Battling Dark Circles: 5 Things You (& I) Could Be Doing Wrong

If I ever decided to calculate how much I spend every year on concealers, eye creams and face masks, all to try to cover my dark circles, I could probably afford to buy one of those Chanel handbags I've wanted for a while. From a very early age, I've had to deal with dark discoloration of the skin under my eyes making me look tired and ill at times. Some of the main causes for my dark circles are heredity (thanks mom), working in front of a computer for prolonged hours, mental and physical stress, as well as lack of sleep. Other causes include aging, dry skin, an unhealthy diet and even prolonged crying.

New In: Maybelline Lash Sensational Luscious Mascara

Maybelline mascaras are my favourite among drugstore and high-end options. I have tried my fair share of the newer releases they have put out and if you have read my blog once or twice, you will know that their Lash Sensational mascara is my favourite of all time. I did try their Falsies Push Up Drama mascara a few months ago (read my review here) and despite really liking it now I don't think anything has come close to the Lash Sensational. Which is why when I spotted its new black packaging cousin, I was super excited to try it. The Lash Sensational Luscious contains an oil blend claiming to yield softer and denser lashes, and after trying it for a week or so I'm ready to share my opinion with you guys!

S/S 2016 Trends: Ruffles & Frills

Proven to have been hugely popular during spring, Ruffles & Frills are the perfect amount of romance to any outfit and one of this year's prettiest summer trends. Seen on the SS16 shows of Mary Katrantzou, Miu Miu, Givenchy and many other designers I love, not only were they hot on the catwalk romantic ruffles are too a hit with the A-list on and off the red carpet. Whether it's a casual frill or full-on frou frou, ruffles is a crucial trend this season and also one of the simplest to style. Blogger Event: Yoga & Breakfast With Farfetch

Yoga at the Shard sounds fancy, right? Add a banging breakfast with the lovely Farfetch crew to the equation to celebrate the launch of new luxury workout wear specialist boutiques (Bandier US and Mode Sportif), and you've got yourself an unforgettable start of the day. And this is exactly how my Thursday last week commenced. Obviously, I was over the moon to receive an invitation to their biggest (and poshest) blogger event of the season; a mix of exercise followed by some yummy food, at the Shard may I add, sounded too good to pass.
