What NOT To Wear To A Wedding (EVER!)

Wedding season is well and truly upon us and engagement parties as well as wedding invitations are flowing in. Weddings are fun and the perfect excuse to dress up which is something I love. The last wedding I attended was last year, in Cyprus and a lot of thought went into my outfit which you can see here. I wanted something summery and flowery, due to the near inferno temperatures, yet not overly flashing; nobody wants to outshine the bride. Choosing something appropriate for a wedding is hard but a MUST, regardless of whether it is a back yard or church wedding. You may have seen in the news the story about a woman wearing (in my opinion) a tiny body-con dress to a summer wedding and being bullied by other guests (read story here). And whilst bullying is totally unacceptable, I do find find her outfit to be very inappropriate for the occasion, no matter how hot the day may have been. Sure, every wedding is different and for a beach one you may get away with something a little shorter, but there are simply outfits you should NEVER, I repeat never wear to a wedding and today I wanna talk about these.

S/S 2015 Trends: Wedding Guest Dress

wedding guest dresses
Weddings can be fun and are the perfect excuse to dress up a little (read a lot) more than you would normally for a fancy occasion. Having recently travelled to the beautiful Cypriot island for amazing weather and a wedding to attend, I was quick to snap a few photos in order to put together my wedding guest look, perfect for either day or night.

The heat was not forgiving, but that certainly did not stop me and other girls from getting pampered throughout the day. With my hair done and my make-up setting after fresh application by an amazing make-up artist, it was time to slip into my beautiful organza dress that I had picked out months before the event. I wanted a dress that was me and one that had the “wow” factor. That is exactly what I was going for given the scenery was to be one of the best I’ve seen and this was my chance to make a excellent #lookoftheday blog post. I cannot say I looked for the perfect dress for very long (unlike my mother who is very picky); as soon as I saw it I knew it was the one. I just wish the same happens when it comes to choosing my own wedding dress. But, for this occasion all I knew was that I wanted to incorporate a few summer trends in my look and this dress ticked all boxes. Floral, sheer, off-the-shoulder, and “one of a kind” all combined in one look! What more could a girl want?

Not only did I feel like a Disney princess, I was constantly told I looked like one too. Admittedly, I hadn’t had this much fun in dressing up in a long time. Now only a couple of months away from my own special day, I cannot wait to start searching for my perfect wedding dress. I have been extremely blessed to find my prince and because of that even more “sophisticated-Disney-princess-like” is the look I will be going for and a magical wedding day is what we are dreaming of.

Thank you for reading beauties and have a lovely weekend ahead!

xoxo
