Confused, intrigued, loving it...yep that's me when it comes to these trends. I remember my father sporting fanny packs back in the day (and me being deeply embarrassed by it). Yet now here I am actually wearing one, in broad daylight for all to see. Similarly, chunky dad trainers were ugly things of the past, and just recently I spent a good hour searching for the right one to purchase online. Have I gone absolutely mad? Maybe so, because despite thinking I would never cave for these insane trends, I'm actually really loving them and not only wearing one of these "bold" statements in an outfit but two, together.

Cute As A Button (Literally!): The Tortoiseshell Button Trend
If you're into micro trends, this is the one for you to try this summer. Buttons, other than being functional, have been upgraded to being totally fashionable this season. No matter how small they may be, I guarantee you'll be seeing tortoiseshell buttons on everyone's #ootd. They have proliferated in our favourite high street shops and made more affordable items look polished, sophisticated and a lot more expensive than they actually are. Previously seen mainly on glasses frames, these have flourished in many new-in pieces and one might even say, they have come to take over the number one trend spot from frills detailing!

Menorca, Here I Come: My 5 Summer Holiday Essentials
In less than 2 weeks I will be jetting off to sunny Spain, more specifically Menorca, and that is all I can think about right now (forget work, forget the world cup, I want sunshine!). One week in the sun, in flowy summer dresses, crop tops and all the pretty swimsuits out there and a break from this hectic Londoner life sound pretty much perfect, but there is a catch. Given we'll be going for a week, we will be travelling light with just a carry on each (this was my husband putting his foot down haha). This could be a problem, considering I've never been one to pack light which is why I've decided to start thinking about what I will be taking with me early on. Planning my outfits carefully beforehand will ensure I spend less time choosing what to wear and more time lounging by the pool, because there is nothing worse than having that "I have nothing to wear" moment whilst on holiday. With this in mind, I thought about writing this post because I've landed on 5 summer holiday essentials for me and I wanted to share these to inspire you too, whether you're also off to a sunny destination, or simply looking to give your summer wardrobe an upgrade. Keep on reading to find out my summer holiday musts!

2016 Fashion Trends: My Posts Recap
Happy New Year beauties and welcome back to pamscalfi.com! I hope everyone has enjoyed their time off for Christmas and New Year! I know I've not been around much these past few days but a break was in order. I had been stretching myself thin for a while and desperately needed a break from work and blogging to be able to fully relax, recharge my batteries and enjoy time with family and friends, and I am overjoyed I did just that. 2016 was a busy year for me with scarce holidays, so when the holiday season came around I knew this was going to be "me time". I, of course, missed this place like crazy thinking of the posts you guys were publishing and that I was missing but I am back now and glad to report things will be going back to normal. When I say normal I do need to remind myself that I have a wedding coming up in 3 months or so, so I will not promise the usual 3 posts per week I did last year. But the main goal in terms of blogging this year is to give fashion blogging my best shot seeing I have learned so much about it in 2016 and it has truly become my passion! I have so much to share with you all in this space and I hope 2017 can be the year I get to do it. And to start things off I am looking back at all of my fashion posts from 2016; I can't believe there were 30 posts which is amazing compared to only 18 in 2015. Let's review!

S/S 2016 Trends: Chanel Two-Tone Inspired Sling-Backs
I've talked about owning a Chanel bag on the blog before (read here) and according to a new study from Baghunter, an authentic bag currently makes a better investment than real state. We all know how expensive they are, but what people don't realise is that their value has increased more than 70% since 2010, and is set to continue on this up rise. Considering getting on the house ladder in London is extremely difficult don't mind if I do get me a new bag! Now I have the perfect excuse, am I right?! And whilst I am at it, I might as well get me a pair of Chanel Sling-Backs because have you seen how popular they've been this summer?

S/S 2016 Trends: Pom Poms Are Everywhere!
I love anything in white, black and grey but you will agree with me that summer has to have a bit of colour and this year I have really been trying to embrace more shades in my outfits and it is so much more fun. Which is why there is one particular trend I (alongside major fashion bloggers) am loving and that is the pom pom trend. It is very unlikely that you have not seen this all over social media and if you haven't, where have you been?! The pom pom trend has taken Instagram by a storm and it is permeating everything from accessories to footwear!

Work Summer Party: My Weekend In Photos

Gotta love when your company throws a massive summer party with tons of free food and drinks. I've now been to three parties (they are annual) and if you did not know already, I work in finance by day and blog by night. Working in finance is stressful as and I might even do a post sometime in the future explaining what a data analyst does and how my day at work looks like. But essentially this is the way the company thanks us for our hard work, by having massive (and I really mean massive) summer parties and one would have to be stupid not to turn up, right?!

Summer Capsule Wardrobe: 5 Tops You Need To Own
With summer season in full swing and in spite of temperatures being mediocre for this time of year, I've been working hard to get my everyday wardrobe in order and updated for summer. If you are looking for an effortless capsule collection that keeps you covered for all occasions, whether we are talking about evening outings or casual day-wear, these are the simply must-have tops for the season. Remember, trends come and go, and whilst my wardrobe also currently contains a lot of off-shoulder and cold-shoulder pieces, these are the truly essential tops. Having one of each in your wardrobe is guaranteed to make outfit matching a whole lot easier, so what's not to love? Keep on reading to find out more.

10 Thoughts Whilst Buying A New Bikini
Despite having an entire drawer on my white Ikea chest dedicated to all things beach related such as bikinis, hats, bags and cover ups, every year I fall under the spell that is the bikini season. Every store is stocking the latest trend in the bikini world; they come in way too many different styles and colours that it almost all becomes a nightmare for a shopaholic like me. Of course we have that pair we turn to in desperate times, but with the summer holidays booked and the anxious wait that is having to expose yourself in front of many, buying a new bikini is a must and that is when the painful process of doing so commences.

I WANT: Fashion Spring Wishlist
![]() |
High Neck Jumper // Midi Skirt // Stripe Dress // Gypsy Blouse // Mini Skirt // Cold Shoulder |
Despite having a closet full of clothes that can barely close, every time I have a look online for new season inspiration, my wishlist just manages to grow and grow. My favourites places to shop at the moment are Matalan (which you know I've loved for years now), H&M which is pretty new to me as I never shopped there and good old Asos that manages to have everything we need in one place.

London Fashion Weekend 2016: Catwalks + #LookOfTheDay
The past weekend London, the fashion capital of the world, was buzzing and I made it my mission not to miss a chance to be part of it. Last year, I headed over to London Fashion Weekend 2015 for the House of Holland catwalk and we left feeling inspired by all trends we saw and all the shopping we did. This year, we attended both Spring/Summer 2016 catwalks; designer and trends, and everything looked so amazing that I would have no problem in wearing everything right from the catwalk. The day started early and had tons of fashion inspiration in store for us.
Designer Catwalk: Temperley London

To be honest at first I was more excited for the trend catwalk that would later follow but I was honestly left rather impressed with how beautiful everything from the Temperley London collection looked. Alice, the designer, made the spring/summer collection wearable enough; the main highlights in my opinion were the bohemian airy dresses, loose cut pants and various prints that exuded a Mediterranean vibe and were simply summer chic. To complete every look, models sported lace up sandals which were big last summer but will be back strong this year once again and hats with their hair tied back, trend alert spotted?
Trend Catwalk: 4 Spring/Summer 2016 Trends
Bootanicals are back and were all over the catwalk. It's a given that florals pretty much go hand in hand with spring/summer (and to be honest I have no problem wearing flowers through autumn and winter too, see here) but this year they are bigger than ever. Patterned tops and bottoms made their way down the catwalk graciously and got me in the mood of adding a bit of English countryside into my Spring wardrobe pronto.
Americana, inspired by North America style as the name suggests, will be hot this season! Red, white and blue stripes as well as varsity jackets, sparkles and a country vibe are safe bets when trying out this trend. In short, the bolder the cut the better! The catwalk saw a lot of fringes, leather and denim; 3 of my favourite things for spring/summer.

I made it my mission to wear more colour this year so I was glad to see Pop Art come up too. Clearly, the concept here was bright and bold colours. It's true what they say, colour is the new black and avoiding clashing colours is a thing to be left in the past. I personally can't wait to give this trend a try and mix a few colours I wouldn't dare of putting together before.
And finally, New Romance which can be defined in 3 words, lots of lace. This last trend was an absolute dream to watch on the catwalk, the designs were delicate and feminine but not too girly, and illustrated pure elegance. All looks were great for warm-weather and softer shades and sexy cuts are what I will be looking for to make this trend work.
Dungarees: New Look (here) // Ankle Boots: New Look (old) // Handbag: Michael Kors |
For the day I chose a comfortable yet stylish look and as soon as I saw these dungarees I knew they were perfect. The air was chilly so I paired them with a grey turtle-neck and boots (with extra thick socks) to keep me warm. I didn't think much of the bag I was taking, all I wanted was something I could fit my camera in and this MK one did the job exceptionally well. I have more shots from the weekend on my instagram (@pamella_scalfi) so make sure you follow me there too!

This wraps up this super long post, so if you made it to the end give yourself a pat on the back! I hope you liked seeing the latest S/S 2016 trends and collections and let me know below which trend is your favourite!
Thanks for reading beauties and wishing everyone a nice week ahead!

2015 Outfit Recap
As cliché as it sounds, where has 2015 gone? It seems like yesterday I started this space on the internet and here I am, still standing 107posts later! I honestly can barely believe how far this blog has come since February 2015, all thanks to you beauties!
If you've been around for a while you will know that I created it as a beauty blog, but obviously I soon realized I loved the camera and fashion too much to shy away from it. The obvious decision was to give fashion blogging a proper shot too and that was the best thing I could ever have done. My main goal has been to share my opinion on all things beauty and bring fashion that is affordable and accessible to every woman, taking into account the season’s hottest trends.
2015 has been just the beginning. Despite pamscalfi.com being less than a year old, I feel like I've been doing a good job so far. The feedback on each post and across other social platforms has been wonderful, I've been able to work with amazing brands and I've also been featured as an “Expert Blogger” here, which is one of my biggest blogging highlights so far!
Since the year is coming to an end, why not look back at all the outfit posts I've done here. That gives you a chance to read any that you have missed and you can also tell me which one was your favourite!

What's next, I hear you asking! Without a doubt, fashion has become a huge part of me and it is definitely how I want to keep things around here. I, of course, love all things beauty too so my make-up posts won't be going anywhere so do not worry! However I see 2016 being the fashion year for pamscalfi.com and it is definitely something I want to focus more on. I want my #LookOfTheDay posts to be bigger and better and that is something I will always strive for. Goodbye 2015, hello 2016!
Thanks for reading beauties and for the continuous support!
Happy New Year and see you in a couple of days!

S/S 2015 Trends: Off Shoulder & Fringes
The Off-the-Shoulder
is amongst my favourite trends for this summer, even though "summer" has vanished away
from the UK and it feels like the beginning of Autumn already. Thankfully, a summer
holiday on my calendar is quickly approaching and a style I'm going with is baring
those shoulders, after all this season it’s all about getting rid of your
sleeves.
Off-the-shoulder is a mix of sexy, glam, with a pinch of sweetness. Greatly
inspired by the Eighties (which at the time was actually inspired by the Fifties)
and very Disney princess like, this neckline makes an strong
comeback in a slightly different version. Leaving aside the ladylike style it
was previously known for, it now focuses on exposing more skin with a very low neckline,
making it a flawless sexy summer style. When
worn with a good strapless bra, a quick buffing of bronzer on the
décolletage, as well as the right accessories, you will be ready in no time for
that summer evening outing or simply a beach-side day. Here’s my take on the
trend.
Off-The-Shoulder Dress: Asos - Fringed Shoulder Bag: Primark Platform Wedges: Renata Mello - Layered Necklace: Happiness Boutique* |
Happiness Boutique has kindly sent me this beautiful rose gold necklace. Check out their huge range of accessories here; they offer free shipping as well as a customer reward program! Of course I
couldn't not add it to this look, I mean how cute does the key and the heart look
together. Oh, and what’s better than one trend? That’s right, 3 in one look. You
will remember when I spoke here about the layered necklace craze we are having, and apart from the off-the-shoulder, fringe is yet another trend that
makes a comeback from a different decade; the Seventies this time. Funny how
everything is coming back! Paired this super cute fringed bag (which was only
£8 compared to the one I originally wanted, see here) with a few modern items
to offset any potential rodeo vibes and I love the end result. What do you
think?
What trends are you wearing this summer? Let me know below!
Thanks for reading and have a nice weekend ahead beauties!
