Work Summer Party: My Weekend In Photos

Gotta love when your company throws a massive summer party with tons of free food and drinks. I've now been to three parties (they are annual) and if you did not know already, I work in finance by day and blog by night. Working in finance is stressful as and I might even do a post sometime in the future explaining what a data analyst does and how my day at work looks like. But essentially this is the way the company thanks us for our hard work, by having massive (and I really mean massive) summer parties and one would have to be stupid not to turn up, right?!

The theme was "Expect the Unexpected" and boy, did they get it right! I wasn't expecting much given last two years parties failed to wow me, but this year it looks like the planners really did their research as everything from food to décor looked so trendy and instagrammable. I was in blogger's fairyland and despite not thinking about blogging about this event beforehand I quickly snapped lots of pictures with my IPhone (so excuse the poor quality of photos) to share with you guys!

The décor had a fun vintage vibe and it included anything between pom poms to watermelon and flamingo floaters, which are only the hottest pool accessories this summer. Better yet, the weather was hot enough to rock summer outfits and at 25ish degrees Wrotham Park, where the party was held, looked stunningly summery.

Food is always the factor I look forward to the most and whilst we had the standard summer BBQ dishes, various tents stretched across the ginormous state and my favourite had to be the street food and dessert ones. I had never tried Korean food before and it is safe to say I'm in love. Even my fiancé who is a picky eater loved what I can only assume are called spring rolls and we now have to find a good Korean restaurant to try more. Needless to say, we were munching throughout the entire day; did I mention everything is free so you can eat as much as you'd like?

The pudding tent not only had the best cheesecakes, strawberries and cream, cronuts and cookies, but the décor also looked stunning and very wonderland like. These pictures really do not do the decoration any justice, you had to be there to fully experience the magnitude of detail. It was a like a blogger's dream!

Apart from feeding us until we dropped, there were funfair rides across the park (not a good mix with the amount of food available), endless activities for kids as well as temporary tattoos and hats making pop-ups. Seriously, this place was happening and it almost reminded of Coachella. Oh yeah, I forgot to mention live acts sang throughout the day so it was almost like being a concert too. Sounds too good, doesn't it? Well it was :D

Needless to say, I can't wait for next year's one already and I really hope they keep it up and not lose their mojo. Everything was on point and we left wanting more, even though we could hardly finish our fifth ice cream.

What did you do over the weekend? Does your company also have major summer events?

  10. Which company are you working for because that party is slamming! My ex company's parties were never that happening, it's always in a ballroom with nice dinner and some performances but that's it. And you never tried Korean food before this? Pam, you and me need to sit down and have a talk and then we go Korean food hopping. LOL!
