S/S 2016 Trends: Bomber Jacket & Adidas Superstars

 I always tell myself not to get overly excited about summer, because summer in London is pretty non-existent isn't it?! Spring has been a wash out and I can count on one hand the days I've been able to leave the house without a second layer of clothing. When it is chilly out I find myself constantly reaching for my trusty bomber as I am loving how trendy they are.

The BOMBER JACKET, inspired by the 80s fashion, has recently taken over the fashion world and made its first appearance back in winter. This sunnier -she said hopefully- season it comes back with a twist in unusual colours and embroidered, after all 2016 is the year of details. I confess I was playing safe when I ordered this one; a jersey material bomber jacket to keep me warm in a nice dark blue colour so that I can just about pair it with anything but I am on the lookout for something a little more summery, any suggestions?

Having featured in SS16 catwalk shows for brands like Chloe, Tods and Loewe, the bomber is definitely the A-list choice for this season being so low-key and easy to wear. I know what you're thinking but no, bombers don't have to be sporty or boyish, even though that's the style I went for this day. Of course it works well with trainers and the likes, but don’t be put off to throw it over a cute and girly dress, pair it with some heels or even a more feminine look topped off with sneakers for an unexpected sportswear look.

 

I decided to wear my white jeans for this look because I am quite possibly obsessed with them. In my 70's Inspired Look I talked about how this is my first ever pair of white denim and at first I was bit undecided whether I could pull it off but decided not to care and go with it anyway. Whenever I can, I am rocking these! The tee is the one everyone has probably seen on any Primark hauls on Youtube and I feel like everyone has it but I couldn't not put it on my shopping basket. They have so many different cute printed t-shirts in there at the moment so I may or may not have left the store with one of each. For the price one can hardly complain, plus it says "pizza" on it; it does not get any cuter than this.

My newest addition, the ADIDAS SUPERSTARS finishes off the look and I've been wearing it on repeat; if you follow me on Instagram you'd know! White trainers really are hotter than ever! My trusty Michael Kors handbag adds a touch of femininity to the look and makes it a totally acceptable look for a lunch date, or maybe I just like to tell myself that?!

Quite clearly, this is the comfiest look I've done here on the blog, and I never thought I'd be wearing trainers post after post, but there you go. I've said it before, don't follow a trend if it doesn't follow you back. But, I am genuinely loving styling these babies, both jacket and sneakers, and I can't wait to add a few more bombers to my wardrobe, they will surely take me right through to autumn and winter in style (and most importantly warmth!).
