From The Office To The Beach: 5 Must Have Bags For Summer

Ah, bags. I'm known to have a thing or two for bags and whenever I purchase a new one my dad always questions me whether I actually need it, the answer of course is yes, I do! With today being the first day of summer (what a washout, eh?!) and the recent weather improvement-ish, I find myself taking out my more colourful bags and wearing a different one every day of the week. Despite being a bag hoarder and proud of it, I know there are only a few essential styles that can easily get us through summer in style and on trend, and these are the ones I wanna be talking about today.

BEACH BAG

Let's start with the obvious one, the must have beach bag. With my summer holiday finally all booked, this style is one I will be sure to take with me (even if it's rolled up to fit in my suitcase- stupid one bag Easy Jet policy). The favourable size allows you to you easily take everything a beach day requires; from towels to sunscreen, from nibbles to beverages, a beach bag is not only roomy, but also stylish, colourful and fun, and will simply not let you down.

BEACH BASKET

For the more stylish, a straw beach bag is cool, fashionable and very practical, just like its cousin above. This style will see you through the airport to the beach, and they work really well for a more urban outing too like a picnic or day in the park. Match it with your straw hat and you are good to go!

CLUTCH

In my book, summer is all about bright colours and whole load of accessorising, so a summer-ready clutch is a necessity. Woven, embellished or embroidered, the clutch will come in handy on nights out, both whilst on holiday abroad or around London and my top tip is: pick a colour-popping design for a fun seasonal take on accessories.

CROSS-BODY

Whether you're visiting the markets in Majorca or strolling the cobbled streets of Rio for the Olympics, an easy and lightweight bag to throw on with any outfit is essential. Despite being small, it will keep all of your most valuable possessions (your phone, wallet and your Chanel lipstick- priorities am I right?) safe and close at all times. 

TOTE

Simply put, our best friend this summer. These babies are so spacious they work for both the office and to take on a holiday. Pack a picnic blanket for lunch time sittings in the sun, stash a pair of trainers for your post-work workout or fill it with magazines and books for a more enjoyable flight. The Louis Vitton Neverfull is obviously a great option, but for more affordable options, just head on to the high street for a ton of options.
