Doing my make-up and getting dolled up is quite possibly one of my favourite things about this colder season. Add to that list Netflix marathons, wearing lots and lots of layers, burning my favourite candles and all the pair of boots I can
buy wear and I have my perfect autumn. I have always been a summer person, but fall has this way of warming its way in to my heart that no other season has. Plus when it comes to beauty, everything becomes easier when the weather turns chilly outside; forget having make-up run down you face, oily t-zones and sweaty foreheads! Fall also means I can be braver with colour; my darker lip shades come out to play, as do my glittery eyeshadows, both of which are proving to be popular beauty trends for the season! If you want to know about some other trends too, keep reading!
DARK BERRY LIPS
Berry lips have long been associated with fall and are not exactly ground-breaking anymore. We all have the plum, burgundy or wine odd lipstick in our collection but what about something a little darker than usual? Now that's cool and different! To achieve the look without buying a new lipstick is simple, you can use black eyeliner to fill the lips and go over with your usual fall shade. Finish it off with a touch of gloss for a more dramatic vampy look!
I avoid black liners in the summer at all costs as I do not want it running down my face and clogging up in the corners of my eyes. This fall however think black and greasy. To play safe a classic flick will work, but if you're feeling adventurous push the boundaries and go for a soft smudge with the help of black eyeshadow or/and rim the waterlines in ink too. The key is to have your eyeliner blacker than black for an impeccable fall finish.
Glitter and party season go hand in hand so why not go all out with glitter and embellishments?! Shimmering shadows in gold and silver give the trend a more sophisticated twist as does a smoky eye with gold glitter. Brow bone glitter highlight was popular on catwalks and, whilst it may not be for everyone and especially not for the faint hearted, this would look amazing if you're dressing up for a costume party anytime soon.
I know what you're thinking and yes peach shades are more spring-like but what about trying out this shade for fall too? Peachy eye makeup not only looks exceptionally sophisticated for autumn, it is a great bet for more romantic looks. Pair it with nude lips and all black outfits and you will surely stand out from the crowd.
HEALTHY GLOW COMPLEXION
A healthy glow works just as well for fall as it works for spring. Plus, it could not be easier to achieve this look especially in the morning when you're getting ready for work or the day ahead of you. Skip the bronzer and go straight into blush and a little highlighter. A rosy blush shade will liven up your pale wintry skin and give back that pink flush where there should have been a natural flush. To finish things off, a tinted balm gives lips some colour (and moisture) and mascara opens up the eyes and makes you look more awake. Who doesn't love an easy yet trendy make-up look you can easily get done in 3 minutes?!
Tell me, which of these are your fav? Will you be rocking very dark lip shades this fall too?
