Fall 2016 Fashion Trend: Metal Eyelets aka Grommets

Not everyone is fashion forward and that is totally ok. I like trends that other people don't (mostly referring to my mother here but ok) and some trends simply aren't for me, like the Gucci loafer shoes…anyone else thinks they're truly horrible? For example, a style that I particularly like for fall is edgy dressing; biker jackets, leather boots and metal details are amongst my favourite ways to accessorise an outfit. I know this style isn't for everyone but there is a trend around metal detailing that everyone can try this season as it instantly adds a cool touch to a getup. Read on to find out more!

I'm referring to eyelets, also known as grommets and these are appearing more and more on different pieces of clothing and accessories and I am obsessed! I've seen bags, boots and sandals covered in them, as well as metal detailing on dress hems. You may call this a micro-trend yet nothing is remotely micro about it, it has really blown up this year and first had its moment in fashion late summer and I can see why. Designers and fast-fashion retailers are saturated with fabulous versions of the trend and if you're anything like me you probably want every single piece out there. These little details instantly add some edge in a fun yet easy way to wear. 

Given the cold weather has been showing no mercy lately, I am all about knits and cosy layers for both work days and weekends. My knit collection every year is quite a large one but this year things have escalated to a whole new level thanks to Matalan and their fab knit jumpers and cardis range (and this post isn't even sponsored by them haha). I went a little nuts and left myself pretty much broke for the next weeks until payday comes around again but totally worth it if you ask me; I am feeling warm and looking stylish and that's what really matter right?!

This particular jumper caught my eye-let (get it? Shameful, I know), not only it has eyelets around the collar but also lace-up details on the sides. I don't own a lot of green clothes and I can't say I'm a massive fan of the colour but this green looked fall-perfect so I just went for it. I love how this jumper feels on and even though it's got eyelets details all over, it is not overly edgy making this trend perfect for anyone to try! I added my trusty and from last winter over the knee boots from Clarks, this camel satchel I'm obsessed with and sunnies because it may have been freezing when I shot these photos but it was also delightfully sunny. What do you think?
