5 Ways To Make White Culottes Amazingly Flattering

If there is one pair of pants everywhere this season it is the culottes. Like I mentioned here, long gone are the skinny jeans days and instead, for the sunny season, it is all about jeans on the looser side. Everyone that is cool and has a sense of style owns a pair of cropped, wide-legged denim and for good reason. This ridiculously flattering style can take you from day to night with ease and it exactly what your wardrobe needs if you haven't yet got a pair. Plus, the culotte trend has been around for a few now, so it comes at all price points making it an affordable trend to try! But if you're not convinced and on the fence about this one, let me give you 5 easy styling tips to make this the denim to bet on this time of year. Keep on reading!

1. COLOUR CO-ORDINATE

Colour matching is the easiest way to style this one. Choosing a top in the same shade as your culottes give the look smart vibes, and makes it look tailored. In my case, I chose a simple cami in the same off-white colour as the jeans, tucked it in to define my waist and voilá, an easy yet done up outfit. This works well with pastel and bright shades for a spring bold look.

2. DRESS IT DOWN WITH SNEAKERS

Whilst I've got a pair of pumps in this outfit, I'm already looking forward to wearing this pair of culottes with my Stan Smith sneakers. Bright white sneakers make the look interesting and keep it neutral; exactly the kind of casual I'm going to be trying for both day and night. Remember, you don't have to pair heels with culottes to make them cool.

3. ADD LENGTH WITH HEELS

Having said that, if you're worried about the culottes making you look short, adding a pump or sandals instantly adds length and polish. Not to mention, I would so wear this outfit I put together to the office because it looks amazingly smart with a nice heel (no matter how short it is). Heels with culottes aren't necessary like I said before, but they do make the look more put together and like you made the extra effort.

4. SUIT UP

More like add a blazer or a coat, but you get the gist (and it just sounded so cool as I have started re-watching HIMYM). I'm looking forward to taking this pair right through autumn, and when the air is chillier I won't be afraid of putting on a nice long coat, or a blazer for added warmth. Well actually, with this temperamental weather, this is a tip to use right now! Sticking to a colour palette and even neutral tones, allow you to pull this layering off and a pretty blazer like this one I'm wearing seemed like the perfect option.

5. ACCESSORIZE BRIGHTLY

And if I still haven't made up your mind, I give up. I kid, I kid! Why not try taking the attention away from the culottes with bright accessories like a maxi pair of earrings, a bright coloured pair of shoes and even a statement jacket. I'm sure this will ease you right into trying the trend (and hopefully convert you!).
