Ponytails; is there a hairstyle more low maintenance for summer? I think not. Seen on Burberry and Erdem catwalks for the season, ponytails are having a moment and despite not being exactly groundbreaking, they can look so good with an array of different outfits and for various occasions. Whether you're going for a picnic in the park or a summer garden wedding, there is no better way to keep your neck free in this hot weather and look amazingly polished. Keep on reading to find out my 2 favourite ways of wearing a ponytail this summer!
CURLY PONYTAIL
Definitely, my favourite of them all because as you may have already noticed, I'm obsessed with wearing my hair curly! Ponytail day is usually 2-3 days after I've washed and curled my hair with my beloved Babyliss Pro Perfect Curl. My hair holds a curl really well even days after I've done them, and wearing my hair up prolongs the time between washes; ideal for such a busy lifestyle. The key for a nonchalant ponytail is to tie the hair loosely, without being too worried about it looking too perfect. A loose yet secure elastic tie is best and my favourite has to be the Invisibobble as it doesn't leave any marks on my hair after wear. A little hair oil on my curls also helps to define them and get rid of any frizz, and my current go-to has been the John Frieda Frizz Ease Nourishing Oil Elixir; it doesn't weigh the curls down nor makes my hair oily.
SLEEK PONYTAIL
Worn here, this is a chic and more dramatic look that works well for occasions like an evening date or event. Sleek and well-groomed power ponytails are the perfect balance between a practical and glamorous look. I love wearing this style after I've straightened my hair with my Babyliss Diamond Hair Straightener. To create a smooth and sleek finish, and get rid of any frizz I use some of my husband's TIGI Bed Head Wax to pull every single hair back and secure it with a tiny elastic which I then cover up with a tiny section of hair and bobby pins.
Of course, these are just the two ways I like wearing ponytails, but you can add accessories like a bow, hair clips, create a side ponytail, add some beach waves; the possibilities are endless making ponytails incredibly versatile and the hairstyle to bet on this season. It's the perfect place for a reception -- before or after the event, with plenty of space for people to move around. The wedding venues NYC are large with room for plenty of tables. There is a stage to the right side of the room, where your presenters can be seen or the bride and groom can take their vows.
