Base: La Roche-Posay Effaclar BB Blur // Lipstick: Maybelline Matte in Divine Wine |
Effaclar BB Blur is targeted at those with oily skin as it aims to provide day-long control of shine thanks to its cutting-edge ingredient Aircilium, which absorbs 3 times its weight in oil, keeping so the skin matte and with a velvet finish whilst letting the skin breathe. It is suitable for the most sensitive skin (thank GOD!) and gives medium coverage that will erase imperfections and leave a radiant, flawless finish. Additionally, it contains SPF 20 which is perfect for every day use and is designed to conceal acne related skin conditions.
With only two colour options currently available (Fair/Light and Light/Medium), I really hope La Roche-Posay releases more shades in the near future. I personally went for the Fair/Light shade and it matched my skin tone perfectly despite looking way too dark as it first came out of the tube. But when I read more into it, I found out that shade adapting pigments were included in the formula which explains a lot as these work to colour match the skin on application. When it comes to the texture, I confess that at first I hated it, but the more I tried it the better I got on with it. I find that it applies amazingly well using my fingers rather than a brush and I love wearing this when I want a "no makeup" makeup look as it yields an incredibly natural smooth finish with diminished pores and minimised fine lines (yes, sadly I have those even though I'm only 24). If I need higher coverage I can also achieve that by building it up a little but my favourite feature has to be how well it holds throughout the day despite of my oily t-zone which means minimal touch-ups needed; a massive win!
All in all, if you are looking for a product that offers a blurring effect, effectively tackles fine lines and blemishes and doesn't melt away with your skin oiliness, you might want to check this out! At £16.50 for 30ml, this is isn't exactly cheap for a BB cream, but it's one of those gems that can be enjoyed by anyone, whatever your age and skin type so totally worth the investment. Exclusively available here.
Will you be trying this new La Roche-Posay release? Let me know below!

I will definitely try out the new La Roche-Posay release, it looks fantastic and totally perfect for my skin. Great review, Pam! Have a lovely day! xx

I've been looking at BB creams as foundation seems to be too heavy for my acne-prone skin. The fact that it comes from La Roche Posay is reassuring. It's a shame they don't have more shades though!
ReplyDeleteGreat blog by the way :)

I've been using BB Creams on a daily basis because they always offer hydration, and I feel it, as opposed to normal foundations that at times make me feel icky. This seems like a cream I'd try out and probably love it. Plus if it works as well as you say it does, then it'll end up being an absolute favourite. And La roche Posay is such a good brand. Honestly one of my fave skincare brands out there.

I have read about this one just yesterday on AMR and pinned it to my Pinterest wish list, reading your thought on it only encourages me to give it a go. Your skin looks really beautiful. I hope the shade matches me though.

Do they have one that's for dry skin? This sounds lovely and right up my street but since it's for oily skin, I'm worried that this might not sit right on my skin.
ReplyDeleteShireen | Reflection of Sanity
I think it would work on dry skin too, it's a mousse after all and whilst my skin is combo, I do have weird dry patches and this doesn't highlight them ;) good luck!

There is another BB cream moisturiser in la ROCHE POSAY : Hydreane BB . Comes in two shades I think
DeleteI like La Roche-Posay so much!

Your skin looks great Pam! I'm usually a high coverage type of girl but I'm tempted by this as I love mattifying products!

It sounds pretty good, Pam. That lipstick looks awesome on you, girl. I think it's a pass for me. It's probably too matte for my liking.

Ahhhh I read about this yesterday on A Model Recommends and immediately checked if it was available in Italy... Of course it's not! And after reading your review I want it even more, I really think it would be perfect for my oily skin!

This stuff sounds good. I'd be keen to try it but it would depend on the shade of the medium, because it may be too pinky for my skin tone. I do love La Roche-Posay skincare though. My favourites are the Effaclar Duo + and the factor 50 sun screen. They work like a dream on my skin.

This sounds like a bit of a wonder product. I've been told that if I like Vichy, I'll like La Roche-Posay too, so I may have to give this a go. I'm developing fine lines around my eyes and an oily T-zone, so this sounds like a dream!

This looks really great Pam, as it sounds like I have the same skin type as you. I really want to try it, because I feel like I definitely need something lighter to wear on a daily basis. But something that still has some coverage and that is mattifying on the skin - this sounds perfect.:D

This is something which I think is perfect for someone like me. I hardly wear makeup but I think I should start by using BB and CC creams. I have oily skin and I feel that this oil absorbing coverage cream will be my new bae <3

Damn! It all sounded so good until you said it was for oily skin :( I have dry skin and can't seem to find any suitable upgrade from my MaxFactor Ageless Elixir foundation. It's just so thick, I'd love to have something a bit more light as an alternative.
