#FFAWDressUp: Styling Up THE Perfect Winter Dress

Now that the days are shorter, the wind is cooler and the sun is for display purposes only, I know that winter is fast approaching- goodbye sun, hello snow. Winter brings to mind cosy pants, lots and lots of layers, fluffy socks and fleecy pjs (and if you are in London, an umbrella).

But, Farfetch recently got in touch and they got me thinking; why don't I associate dresses when I think of winter? Being reminded that autumn and winter CAN be stylish seasons and dresses should NOT be put down to warmer months only, this post is my attempt at stepping out of my comfort "winter" zone and as a result create the perfect winter outfit featuring a formal designer dress. Oh, and when I say a dress, I do not mean any ordinary dress. I tirelessly browsed and browsed the Farfetch online catalogue until my eyes met my perfect match.

I love black, so combining some of our most worthy fall trends as well as trying to incorporate the Farfetch "feel" into this outfit, I would gladly have one of each in my closet.

Coat // Boots
Starting with this beautiful Versus coat, does the military trend ever go away? I think not. When worn open on top of a dress, this coat is pretty much the cherry on top. It adds elegance, and keeps you real cosy through the colder days. Oh, and the over the knee boots, aren't they literally everywhere at the moment?! I've got myself 2 pairs and am already looking to increase my collection - shopaholic alert- but we will agree that these are on a whole other level. Made from suede and featuring high stiletto heels, these will complete any look this fall. Go get yourself a pair of OTK boots now. You will thank me.

Hat // Bag // Gloves
Winter accessories are the best part. The fedora hat is a must this fall and good news, they generally suit every face shape, win! Moving on to the bag, the Chloé 'Drew' got its own post here on the blog a few weeks back, so if you wanna see my take on this trend with its cheaper cousin, check that out here. I'm glad to have found a cheaper alternative, but for the ultimate designer winter outfit, a girl can dream.

Dress
And last but certainly not least, the star of the show: the perfect Valentino winter dress! I love its round neck, the fitted waist and the flared skirt, all of which work well for my pear figure. By far, one of my favourite Valentino dresses on the Farfetch website (but how beautiful is this one too!).

Perhaps a little too black for some, but if I had to choose the ultimate designer outfit, this would be it. I have fallen in love with all of these items (as well as many other pieces available on the website) and if I could I'd be buying one of each. Farfetch offers an inspirational shopping experience to fashion-forward consumers and I am hooked! I came to the right place for this task if you ask me, but what do you think? Let me know below!

Thanks to Farfetch to getting in touch for #FFAWDressUp*, I had a lot of fun putting this together!

xoxo

  15. Oh my gosh, you've styled my dream Winter outfit, Pam -- this is perfect! (But the price tag isn't...) Absolutely in love with the dress and coat, and the bag is such a fun, sassy little touch! I'd probably go with a plain black clutch, just because I don't do fringe, but I still love it all the same!
