Veeda 100% Natural Cotton Feminine Care + Giveaway

Yes, I've talked about Veeda before (here) and if you read that post you will remember how impressed and much more well informed I was after trying their products out as well as learning how harmful and full of nasty chemicals our usual tampons and pads can be. With the lack of supply for natural products like these with a friendly price tag, Veeda took into account all health risks of synthetic feminine products and set out to change the market and I am so glad they did. Little did I know that products like these actually existed and ever since working with them first time round, I made the switch from my usual brand and I have not looked back since.

Veeda provides everything you need during those couple of days of every month; comfort, protection and the guarantee that their products are 100% natural. It is truly upsetting knowing that leading brands are not disclosing what their products are made of because they simply don't have to as determined by the law. I really hope this changes in the future because every woman deserves to be free from products that contain dioxins from the bleached cotton, pesticide and herbicide residues, synthetic chemicals, artificial fragrances, and dyes. And that is why I am talking about these products again, this a serious matter and I am all about raising awareness (read previous post here where I talk more about Toxic shock syndrome, TSS). Plus I've recently become their brand ambassador and I couldn't be happier!

If providing natural products that we can trust wasn't enough, earlier this year they were also a proud sponsor of the Golden Globes gift bags, celebrating beauty, health and worth of all women. By doing this, Veeda showed their support to a diverse group of women who exemplify outstanding achievement in their field, a commitment to being true to themselves, and a devotion to their communities. Clearly, Veeda is all about girl power (despite being created by two guys) and standing up to women's worth, and I couldn't be happier about this collaboration. I genuinely love what this brand stands for and how affordable and accessible their products are with prices starting at only £1.85 at Boots.

With this in mind, we have teamed up to gift one lucky UK reader with 2 amazing prizes: a 6 month supply of Veeda products as well as a £30 Boots voucher to be spent on anything! It’s simple to enter, and easy to win! You must complete the following mandatory steps in the Rafflecopter widget below: Visit and Like both Veeda UK & Pam Scalfi on Facebook and leave your email addressThere are ways to increase your chances, they are optional but highly encouraged; the more entries you complete the more likely you will win!

Estée Lauder Double Wear Foundation: Oily Skin's Best Friend?

I may have an addiction when it comes to foundations as I am always looking for the next one to purchase even though I have bottles upon bottles of the stuff from various brands sitting on my dressing table. But one foundation that is widely hyped in the blogging world and one I had yet to try is the Estée Lauder Double Wear Foundation, best know for its lasting power and amazing coverage. I've had this on my radar for months but its hefty price tag and lack of pump were amongst the things that were always putting me off. However, I recently realised I had over £30 in Boots points so I finally took the plunge and splurged them all on this beauty and I am so glad I did. In short, it has become my go-to foundation when I want great coverage and longevity.

For years, my favourite premium foundation has been the Urban Decay Naked Skin and quite frankly I never thought another would top it. But ,when the nice counter assistant matched me to shade 1N2 Ecru and showed me how well only a few drops covered my entire face, I was in love. 1N2 has neutral undertones, despite my skin always being matched to warm toned foundations, and I can honestly say I've never experienced such a perfect match before. I am so glad I got my skin matched before purchasing it because if I had chosen the shade by myself I would have gone for something warmer and that would have been a big mistake and waste of money. There are almost 30 shades to choose from, from cool tones, to warm and neutral shades so make sure you get matched up.

I mentioned how little product it takes to give me full coverage, and I really mean it. With this, less is definitely more; it even covers my dark circles well which in turn makes me use less of my expensive concealer...massive win! And even though coverage is full from the first application, I don't feel like it cakes nor looks too unnatural. I like applying it with a damp sponge, finishing off with my trusty RT buffing brush for that natural look ideal for daytime.

And whilst coverage is great, my favourite part has to be how long it lasts on my combination/oily skin. Admittedly, I haven't worn it for 15 hours (the claimed lasting power) but I can honestly say that unlike other foundations I have, this does not leave behind a horrible oily t-zone and a patchy finish after 10 hours of work. In fact, it does not oxidise on my skin throughout the day, doesn't sit on fine lines around my lips nor does it transfer onto my clothes.Yes, it is a somewhat heavy finish foundation but it feels incredibly lightweight on my skin.

Now I wish my review would end there but sadly this does have a few negatives too. Firstly, it has no pump and that is really annoying especially for the price you pay for it. High end make-up brands (yes I am looking at you too MAC) really need to stop being stingy and just provide us with pumps already instead of getting us to purchase it separately. Pumps save time and product, and doesn't leave the bottle looking like a hot mess after a few uses; refer to picture above.

Additionally, despite having combination skin I do suffer from dry patches around my chin and I am afraid this highlights them quite a bit. With this in mind, I have to remind myself that if I want to use this I need to exfoliate, moisturise and prime well before application.

All in all, I am glad I finally got my hands on this foundation. At first I wasn't sure if I should have blown all my points on it, but the more I use it the more I fall for it. It is not a perfect foundation but it comes pretty close to that. The longevity for oily skin and coverage outweigh its lack of pump and non-matte finish and I can honestly say that I would happily repurchase this making it very much worth the hype in my opinion.

The Estée Lauder Double Wear Stay-in-Place Foundation retails for £30, has SPF 10 and comes in 30 or so shades so you are definitely bound to find your match.

Have you tried this? Let me know what your thoughts are below!
Thanks for reading beauties and wishing you a nice week ahead!

Blog Anniversary: 1 Year of PamScalfi.Com

1 year ago today I hit the Publish button for the very first time and I couldn't have made a better decision. Bored out of my mind because all I did was work, on a bright sunny Saturday I remember sitting in my room and thinking what if I just went for it. I had been following a few bloggers for quite some time and loved spending hours reading all the good content that is out there. With tons of encouragement from my family and fiance, I spent that first weekend creating my very first posts: Nail Lacquer Dior Tie & Dye 858: Worth the Splurge? & 10 DIY Valentine's Day Gift Ideas, which then led to the beginning of an exciting new chapter in my life. Blogging has become dream come true for me (as cheesy as that may sound), every Monday, Wednesday and Friday I still get butterflies when my posts go live and what an awesome feeling that is.

Admittedly, my first couple of posts consisted mainly of products' reviews and lifestyle ideas, mostly because I had zero confidence in exposing myself in a more personal way. I would always write a new post with photos of myself sporting a new outfit, but it would sit as a draft and a draft only for weeks, because I couldn't bring myself to publishing it. I genuinely thought nobody was going to want to see photos of an average looking girl, who looked far different than how the media portrayed perfect women to be. I am so glad I followed my gut and pushed the “Publish” button anyway as outfit posts are the kind of content I enjoy the most to create and fashion has become such a huge part of my life.

Today, I am proud to call myself a Beauty & Fashion Blogger and I am extremely overjoyed for everything the blog has achieved in just 12 months. Improvement in photo and content quality is noticeable if you take a look at my older posts, but instead of going back and revamping them up, I like them to be like that. They tell a story, a growth journey and this way, I can call my blog my diary. All the comments, the love, the opportunities, make me believe that nothing is impossible if you really set your mind to it.

S/S 2016 Trends: Rose Quartz And Serenity: The Pantone Colours of 2016

Call me optimist, but here I am bringing spring a tad earlier this year. When I think of spring, I think of pretty pastel shades that are perfect to spruce up our spring wardrobe; who doesn't like to dress up in candy colours that look good enough to eat?! And despite being a few months away from spring just yet, pastel blues, pinks and even yellows are having a major moment in fashion already and I think we can thank Pantone (authority for all things colour) for that.

We leave behind the rich tones of 2015’s Marsala and for the first time Pantone welcomes two shades as the Pantone Colour of the Year 2016Rose Quartz and Serenity. This is for sure a softer take on colour as joined together these shades establish an essential balance. The mix of a ‘warmer embracing rose’ and the ‘cooler tranquil blue’ reflects connection and wellness as well as a soothing sense of order and peace according to Pantone, and I couldn't agree more.

Rose Quartz is an influential yet soft tone that expresses sympathy and a sense of tranquillity. As seen all over the catwalks for Spring/Summer 2016, this can be implemented in both fashion and beauty. Try this gentle tone on cheeks for a flushed finish or with pinky accessories to finish off an outfit.

Serenity - inspired by the blue skies- is light and vivacious and the perfect antidote to modern day stresses bringing feelings of relief and relaxation. Believe it or not, blue eyeshadow is making a comeback and whilst I wasn't sure at first, seeing it on so many models has made the colour grow on me. Blue pastel nails are also here to stay and that is one trend I can get on board with.

Woolen Coat*: here // Striped Crochet Jumper: George at Asda (here) // Boyfriend Jeans: Matalan (here)
Rose Gold Trainers: Superga (here) // Bag: Matalan (old) // Sunglasses*: Firmoo (here)
For this look, I wanted to implement the best of both worlds to achieve a fun and comforting look that can work just as well for the end of winter as take me right through spring. I don’t have many Rose Quartz items in my wardrobe, but an oversized pink coat and rose gold shoes are close enough and really proves you don’t need brand new items to make this (or any!) trend work. Additionally, what could be closer to Serenity than light wash jeans and a blue stripy top?! Don’t forget the lace bit there because you know I am all about the lace (no pun intended) and also the sunglasses which are so affordable yet so great!

What do you think of these shades together? Are you excited for Spring? Let me know below!
Thanks for reading beauties!
