Hello December with #MyLOTD

You will probably hear the next few words a lot these new few weeks and I know they're totally cliché but seriously, where has the year gone? We are already in the last month of the year and I can remember very vividly sitting where I am right now typing up December posts last year! A lot has happened since then and 2017 will be a year to remember for both the good and bad things it brought. The good outweighs the bad of course (I got married!) but I am so ready for December (read Christmas), upcoming trips and birthdays, and for the new year; who's with me?

A Winter Classic: Fur & Leather (Faux Of-Course)

The name of this post says it all, fur and leather, both faux, is a true winter classic combination. Faur fur is one of those winter trends that will always be around in one form or another. From big and fuzzy fur coats to gilets like the one I am wearing, the way is to snuggle up in faux fur to make a statement. Best yet, not only does it you keep you right on trend but also very warm (which is exactly what I need these days as it is freezing!).

Winter 2016 Fashion Trends: Faux Fur Coat

What is winter without a bit of faux fur? Not only is this incredibly cosy trend super stylish, it also gets a furry friend stamp of approval (say no! to real fur garments). From our favourite fashion bloggers to the runways, this trend is everywhere come winter after all what's not to love. With all the different patterns and styles faux fur is hands down the trend to try if you haven't yet during the winter season. My favourite way to showcase a bit (I mean a lot) of faux fur is with outerwear and yes this coat has already made an appearance on this blog here and no the look is not particularly groundbreaking. But hey, that's the beauty of fashion blogging isn't it, "recycling" and wearing pieces again and again! Besides, when you find a combo that works well like all black and a bit of glam, you can blame me from wanting to wear it on repeat. Here's how I embraced this trend this year and the different accessories I chose for this look.

A/W 2015/16 Trends: Faux Fur & Leather

Despite the rising temperatures we have been experiencing here in the UK these past few days, winter is far from over and I have a feeling the chilly air will be back which is great news, especially as I have expanded my winter wardrobe to an extent that I have yet to wear some of what I have purchased. Amongst these new purchases, faux fur and leather are definitely high in numbers, after all when I think of Winter 2015 and 2016 trends, I think fur and leather.

Seen all over the catwalks, including LFWend which I attended back in September (read here), it's undeniable that faux fur is having a moment this season. From furry scarves and all sorts of accessories to bold winter coats and gilets, there's plenty of options to help embrace your inner Yeti this winter. I personally find that there really is nothing better to wrap up in a warm fur coat on a cold winter's day.

Similarly, the leather look is the way forward this season despite being the luxe, classic fabric we love all year round. Whatever wardrobe staple you're after, making it leather instantly adds something extra to your outfit and the key to making it work is clashing textures, hence the faux fur and leather mixture in this outfit. What do you think?

Ankle Boots: New Look (similar here) // Crossbody Bag*: here // Watch*: Cluse (here)
This outfit is the epitome of Scandinavian style, it's chic and edgy yet perfectly laid back and simple. For daytime I went with ankle boots for comfort but for night outings I would happily swap them out for black heels or even OTK black boots, because if you know me you will know that I am all for OTK this winter.

What do you think about clashing these textures? Will you be at #LFWend in February?
Let me know below! Thanks for reading beauties and wishig everyone a great week ahead!

xoxo
