Am I obsessed with Parisian style? Why yes, yes I am. I don't know what it is, but ever since I went to Paris in December with the husband for a Christmas break, I've been in a Parisian mood, from the Instagram Paris overload to all of the berets out there that I want to buy and wear. Call me crazy but in my opinion, winter looks better in this style. I've been loving both timeless stripes (hence the back to back stripe outfits here on the blog) and berets that are not only fashionable but also keep my head warm and, red lipstick to finish it all off. Hence the idea for this post when I realised my outfit was actually really affordable. All of these items prove one point, you don't need to spend a lot of money to achieve this style; I managed to do it all for a grand total of £70, amazing or what! Read on to find out how much each item cost and where to shop them!
“Paris is always a good idea.” - Audrey Hepburn
WOOL BLEND BERET | £8.99 H&M (here)
I could have saved myself a few pounds if I went to Primark for one of these (my pink one with pearls which is all over my Instagram is from there) but one does not simply go to Primark for a beret and only comes out with the beret. So instead of buying stuff I did not need, I just purchased this one from H&M. Of course, the quality is miles better than the one from Primark, and it seems to fit better too. I've been loving hats this season and I can totally see myself wearing this one on repeat!
STRIPE MERCI BEAUCOUP T-SHIRT | £8 Matalan (here)
How cute is this tee? Granted you can't see much of it in this outfit because it was freezing when we took these photos, but this is one of those pieces I'm gonna be wearing all year round. Breton stripes are a classic and I can see myself pairing this with lighter jeans, short and even skirts for the warmer months ahead but for now, layering also works. The t-shirt is incredibly comfy and stretchy so I suggest sizing down. With a nod to signature Parisian style, this striking striped tee is perfect for weekend dressing.
MID RISE SKINNY JEANS | £15 M&S (here)
I am loving the new season jeans from M&S for only £15 and am already thinking about which other washes to add to my collection. I talked about dark denim in my last post (read here) mentioning how dark denim looks smart and is so versatile. With this in mind, I set out to find my perfect pair and couldn't believe my luck when I tried these and they fit like a glove. They are stretchy in all the right places, extremely comfortable and of course stylish. What more do you want from a £15 pair of jeans?!
ANKLE BOOTS | £9.99 Stradivarius (similar-ish here)
This is the only item I won't be able to link accurately as I bought it on sale last season but these are the cheapest pair of boots I own and one of the most worn. These boots go with a variety of different outfits and they are quite comfortable as well. One thing I will say is that Stradivarius does amazing sales at the end of each season and shoes often go for £12 or less, so it is always a good idea to check them out!
FAUX LEATHER MOTO JACKET* | £28.80 (here)
And to finish it all off, of course, a faux leather jacket! I don't know if it is just me, but whenever choosing items from these type of sites I am a little sceptical, but I must say that I was pleasantly surprised to see how well made this jacket was. It did smell a bit off as soon as I opened it but the smell did go away after a few days. As per usual, I sized up and went for a large and the fit is perfect. The belt is a tiny bit annoying as it is quite noisy, but the jacket doesn't look the same without it so I just deal with it.
Outfit Total: £70.78
Thank you for reading beauties and let me know below which is your favourite item!
Happy Monday!
