3 Denim Outfit Ideas For The Weekend

Is there anything better than knowing today is Friday and the weekend is finally upon us? I think not! With the weekend in mind, I bring you 3 denim outfit ideas for pretty much any occasion you may have coming up. Whether you're off to a day out, shopping in the city centre, or it is date night, denim is always appropriate! I may be a little biased considering I am massive denim lover but I thought I'd share these nonetheless in case you're stuck on what to wear. Also, it is very likely that you already have some of these items in your wardrobe which means just because it was payday a few days ago, you don't need to go off spending lots of money for a new item. COMFY CASUAL: DENIM DUNGAREES ( & KNITS)

I added a pair of denim dungarees to my wardrobe recently and despite needing to exchange them for a smaller size (always a good thing no?!), I LOVE them! I already have a black pair which I styled here and here, and what can I say, I'm a fan. Dungarees are easy to throw on and style and super versatile, meaning you can either dress it up or down. I prefer dressing them down myself, ideally with a basic t-shirt and sneakers. But as you can see by the above looks, they go well with boots, chunky jumpers and even some faux fur action.

FASHION SAVVY CASUAL: MOM JEANS (& STRIPES)

If I had to pick the denim style to bet on this year, it'd have to be the mom jeans. Now, I know they are not amazingly flattering but I think we can all agree how fashion forward they look (even though it's a trend from the past, but you know what I mean). Mom jeans are a throwback to the 90s and being so high-waisted, they are incredibly comfortable too. Similar to the dungarees, they can be dressed up or down but with these, I feel like a stripy shirt or knit, and a pair of heels or smart shoes are always the best options. And not only you can wear these right now, these are a safe bet for upcoming spring and summer too!

SMART CASUAL: DARKWASH DENIM (& WHITE SHIRT)

Dark denim, yet another a 90s favourite has undergone a revival and pretty much become the new wardrobe hero for ageless style. Your best bet is a well-fitted piece that looks modern and smart. You know what they say, the darker the wash the smarter the denim is. With that in mind, if it's smart and understated style you're going for, the dark blue jean wins every time. For an off-duty look that's smarter than casual, reach for your trusty pair of dark blue jeans for work or play.
