Welcome 2018: 2017 Recap and Blogging Resolutions!

And so the year finally starts here on the blog! I've been away for a few weeks, not just from this space but also from work and let me tell how good that felt! I was still pretty active over on social media and if you follow me on Instagram you would have seen that I went travelling with the hubby, but it was a much needed time to switch off, relax and recharge my batteries for the new year ahead, especially after the very busy year of 2017 I had! Let's have a quick recap, shall we?!

2017 RECAP
The biggest 2017 highlight for me and the one truly worth mentioning in a recap, (for those who do not yet know) is the fact that I got married in April 2017 and needless to say, it was the best and most special day of my life. It was also, as previously expected, one of the busiest periods I went through. Not only I had to plan a wedding and oversee all the little details, I was working full-time right up until the big day. Looking back I don't know how I did it but hey, it was amazing and I would do it all over again in a heartbeat. We've now been married for 9 months and I cannot believe how quickly time has gone by. It is true what they say, time flies when you're having fun. Marriage has already taught me so many things and I am truly grateful for the man I have found to spend the rest of my life with! You can read more about my wedding here and I already look forward to sharing a post I have been working on for a couple of months now on our first year anniversary coming up in April, watch this space!

Our wedding was my priority for a good couple of months, from the end of 2016 right until the middle of 2017 and obviously, that took up most of my free time. It was noticeable how in 2017 I posted less content than I would have liked here on the blog and I've talked about it a little bit here. But I know we go through phases in life so it's not something that upset me. Instead, I was happy knowing that this space would be waiting for me when I was ready to come back (and it was, and the rest of the year was a blessing blogging wise!).

For the remainder of 2017, I got to share with you a few travel posts (read about my honeymoon in Sardinia here) and work with some amazing brands which I truly love. Travel blogging is definitely something I want to do more of and I can't wait for all the trips we already have booked for the year! I also created a lot of fashion content which is something I truly enjoyed and will forever love. I was amazed to see how many opportunities were popping up in my email inbox, even after my time away, and I hope 2018 this continues on.

BLOGGING RESOLUTIONS
In terms of blogging in 2018, I wish for it to become a priority again, and for posting to be a little less sporadic and a lot more consistent. It's not something I'm setting in stone nor promising of course, as it is quite easy for this to feel like a chore if you're not enjoying yourself. Blogging for me needs to be fun and not feel like something I have to do, so it is all about publishing good content on my own schedule and not something rushed just for the sake of having a new post up. I want to focus even more on fashion this year, work with new brands as well as collaborate with alike creative influencers. In fact, I want to see more collaboration in the blogging world and less hate, nasty competition and useless comparison...who's with me?! I hope I can take a further step and also start working with professional photographers to really improve this aspect of blogging (so if you know any good ones let me know below!); I know the hubby will be thanking me on this one! Branching more into lifestyle is something I look forward to also; I am really into interior design at the minute and I definitely want to share a few before and after shots of some spaces I've changed around my own house and my parents'. Women's health is yet another topic I want to explore more as I've gone through some really tough health issues this past year, which I am still recovering from, and I do not feel like they're talked about enough in the blogging world.
