The Check Blazer Trend & How To Style It

Call it the Prince of Wales print, plaid or check, this is one heck of a trend that isn't going anywhere anytime soon! Hot since September when NYFW was well under way, this trend was and will continue to be spotted everywhere. Alongside the other trends I mentioned in my latest post called "3 Trends to Wear Now and Right Through the Fall Season", the check print isn't exactly breaking any grounds, but it is a fun way to try a more masculine print otherwise left for our dads and grandpas. Check blazers and coats are particularly popular, selling out from left and right and I know this because I was after one myself. From budget-friendly options from Zara to splurge options from high-end designers, this is the stuff that fashion girls are actually going to be wearing this season, and not just another trend we saw on the runway.

THE CHECK BLAZER

As I mentioned, I had been looking for a check blazer for a while. I wanted something in a boyfriend, slouchy fit and I tried a few in Primark, Zara and the likes but the style simply did not suit me. The cut swallowed me and made look frumpy and weird, then I remembered this little number sitting at the back of my closet from (wanna guess?) Matalan! I bought this last year on sale thinking it would be a good piece for those dressed up days at work, but truth be told, I have hardly worn it at all. That was until I saw some fun ways on how to pair this and make it look less serious and more casual, aka more me!

THE SLOGAN TEE

Enter the t-shirt, with without a doubt makes the look a lot more casual and way more up my street. This logo tee has been constantly sold out so when I spotted my size in stock I did not think twice. This is from Topshop and I think every UK fashion blogger owns it, but I liked it too and off it went into my shopping cart. This t-shirt is a little more expensive than what I would usually spend on a piece like this but it is from Topshop after all, and I must say the quality is pretty insane. The slogan is gorgeous and the material thick and cosy, making it my perfect companion for fall days.

THE ACCESSORIES

These shoes and bag aren't new to the blog, but I thought I'd bring them out as they really finished the look nicely. Both are "dupes" for obviously way more expensive Chanel options and with the whole designer vibes I get from the tee, they were a no-brainer. The shoes I bought last year from Zara and the bag is from Rosegal, which is surprisingly amazing quality.
