I can’t possibly be the only one who suffers from dry skin, dry hair and pretty much dry anything else when winter hits. Admittedly, it is not even THAT cold out yet but my mama has always reminded me “better safe than sorry”, so as soon as the temperature hit the lower teens, my routines had to be adapted to include thicker and heavier duty products, aka my winter saviours. Without these little babies I don’t know what I would do! Keep reading…
Body Care
Palmers lotion + coconut oil= match made in heaven! Made with a high concentration of natural ingredients, this aims to provide up to 24 hours moisture and whilst I haven’t worn this for that long, it really does make my skin look instantly amazing and well nourished. It is absorbed incredibly fast making applying body lotion an actually doable task in the winter. Coconut oil deeply moisturises and softens, monoi oil hydrates and sweet almost oil soothes the skin; all essential to keep the skin looking healthy and radiant. And if that wasn't enough, this has no parabens, phthalates, mineral oil, gluten, sulphates or dyes. Must have!
I recently talked about this cutie here so I won’t repeat myself too much. Make sure to check out my review of the Belle of the Ball gift set, but in short this hand cream is nourishing, non-greasy, fast absorbent and deliciously scented.
Lip Care
Lush Bubblegum Lip Scrub | £5.50
Dry lips are the worst and the chilly air certainly doesn't help. This has been my staple ever since I purchased it at the beginning of the year and despite including it more than once in my past favourites, I had to include it in this list too! I do love a good matte lipstick, so this is essential to keep my chapped lips at bay and ensure that they don’t become dry or flaky after applying the lippie. I'm sure everyone has tried this at some point, but if you haven’t go get one. You won’t regret it.
I received this godsend from the lovely Georgiana (aka Beauty Nerd in the first giveaway I ever won) and it hasn't left my handbag ever since. I love the hint of sheer colour and how soothing and nourishing my lips feel after use. It starts working as soon as I put it on and it is ideal for those days I don’t feel like wearing lipstick. Love, love, love!
Haircare
Currently on offer at Boots, this is a product I always go back to (mostly because my mum uses up all of it and I need to keep repurchasing). Given we both have coloured hair, it is no surprise that our ends can turn bristle and dry, enter this magic hair oil. Claiming to provide shine, moisture and softness, I can certainly vouch for all of these things. I usually apply it before and after blowdrying as a finishing touch and the result is smooth, silky hair and without any flyaways. This is versatile, non-greasy and all-round champ hair oil.
What are your winter staples? Let me know below, I’d love to hear about them!
Thanks for reading beauties and make sure you come back here on Thursday as I have a surprise for my lovely UK readers!
