Affordable Brushes: LaRoc 10 Piece Kabuki Make-up Brush Set

LaRoc 10 Piece Kabuki Makeup Brush Set

Brushes are indispensable when it comes to having the perfect make-up. As often seen in the blogging world, reviews upon reviews emerge on well-known brands such as Sigma, Real Techniques, MAC, Zoeva, etc…but what about smaller brands? Why don’t we talk about affordable brushes that won’t be breaking the bank?! I was kindly gifted the LaRoc 10 Piece Kabuki Makeup Brush Set* and I want to tell you all about these fab little brushes.

Consisting of 10 beautifully made Kabuki brushes, each one is designed for a specific task, and for each bigger brush there is a matching smaller brush. The brushes feel sturdy, dense and comfortable to hold. And whilst they are not labelled, I did a little research and starting with the face brushes, here is what they are designed for.

LaRoc 10 Piece Kabuki Makeup Brush Set

From left to right: Foundation and Powder Brush (1), Blending Foundation Brush (2), Blush and Bronzer Brush (3), Precision Foundation Brush (4) and Precision Brush (5).

LaRoc 10 Piece Kabuki Makeup Brush Set

Now moving on to the eye brushes (which are my favourite), from left to right we have: Concealer Brush (6), Primer and Shadow Brush (7), Precision Contouring Brush (8), Contouring Brush (9) and Precision Brush (10).

With the bronzer brush, applying my favourite bronzer is a dream. It fits under my cheekbones perfectly and the soft yet dense bristles provide perfect coverage with the right amount of product. Similarly, the contouring brushes are ideal for defining the nose bridge and I use them sometimes for concealer too. The combinations with these are endless and whatever feels right and yields the better finish is what I go with.

Pros:
♥ Affordable kit.
♥ Soft bristles.
♥ Variety of brushes.
♥ Dense foundation and eyeshadow brushes.
♥ Beautiful kabuki handles.
♥ Low shedding.

Cons:
Pouch bag isn’t of great quality.
 Precision brushes are stiff.
 Inconsistency with brushes softness.
 No labels on each brush.

LaRoc 10 Piece Kabuki Makeup Brush Set

Of course, as with any other set you end up using a few brushes more over the others. But I truly find these perfect for building up your make-up brush set and are great for beginners too. I love using these affordable brushes on a day-to-day basis and they are a good addition to my ever growing collection. They are not the best brushes I own, but for the price one cannot complain. You can find it here for £6.99.

Tell me, do you own affordable brushes too?
Thanks for reading beauties and I will see you all soon!

xoxo

  2. What a great price for all these brushes. I have a foundation brush (I don't even know the name of the brand, it was $5 or so). I've been using it last 5 years and love it more than any high-end brand brushes. So, I believe, affordable products can be great too. Have a lovely day, Pam.

  7. Great review. Love when bloggers are honest. Might be interested if the softness wasn't so inconsistent. That's pretty important!

  17. I never heard about this brand, LaRoc, but it seems that the brushes are very nice! Well, there are cons, bur among 10 brushes I am sure that it is normal. One would be more or less and many good! I liked the look of the brushes!

  25. This is perfect, as I've been looking for some basic brushes! All the YouTubers who know what they're doing seem to be using Sigma, but those are a little out of my range at the moment, especially as I'm not even sure if I should start using makeup haha!

  28. Great review, they sound really promising. Besides my RT brushes, I got some cheap ones from TK MAXX and they are amazing. But you can never have enough brushes, especially since I am lazy and I would rather get a new one than wash my dirty ones:)) I really need to check these out.
