How Would You Wear The Tailoring Trend?

If there is one trend I repeatedly saw at London Fashion Week a couple of weeks ago, it was the suit trend. It was big last fall and it is not going anywhere; it is set to be a hit this spring! My babe, Andrea from Brasilnality wore this gorgeous red two-piece and her girl gang matched in different primary colours (remember I said primary colours are going to be huge? Read more here) and it got me excited to try the trend too. If you've read my latest post on a minimalist wardrobe (if not check it out here - it's a good one!), you will know I am going through a "detox" let's say, and instead of buying something new I am trying to recycle and re-use more of my wardrobe and that is what I had in mind for this outfit! Read on...

SIDE STRIPE TROUSERS
I remember being very excited about these when I received them last year from Tobi, but sadly I only wore them once at the end of summer (see here). Side-striped trousers are quite popular at the moment (I know because this pair from H&M which I really wanted has been sold out for weeks!) and given I already had a pair tucked away somewhere, I thought it would look perfect paired with my new black blazer. I love how sporty and casual they look, and that is exactly what the tailoring trend stands for. The suit trend is as playful as it is elegant and works just as well for the office as it does for daytime and nighttime outings. These trousers do exactly that and I look forward to styling them in different ways; I know they work with heels but imagine them with an overzised denim jacket for a more retro look.

LONGLINE BLAZER
I had been looking for a longline blazer, preferably double-breasted, for quite some time but only came across pieces that were a little over my budget at Zara and the likes, so off to Primark I went. To be honest, I didn't have much hope because I know all stores are now bringing out their spring tops and dresses but with luck, this blazer was the last one in my size, similar to what I wanted and within my budget (I got it for £20). Needless to say, it has become my go-to blazer and I will for sure be pairing it with jeans, Dresses, trainers, heels and anything in between!

RING BAG
Bags & purses have become my latest obsession. But ever since I spent an eye-watering amount on my Gucci bag, I don't intend to buy any new designer pieces for a very long time (or anything above £20 let's be real lol). But a handbag (which everybody has I soon realised as I scrolled through my Instagram feed) that costs £8 and looks amazing on photos is hardly breaking the bank. I went for the red colour as it screams spring and summer and I know despite being very inexpensive, it will be my go-to for that pop of colour my future outfits need.

To finish it all off, I threw on some of my other favourites like these Stan Smiths (because as much as I love my Shoes & Boots, my white sneakers obsession will never end) and these cat eye sunglasses I have hardly ever worn. And ta-da, an outfit right on trend with pieces I already had-ish!

  6. I think this is a great trend if I'm still working in the office and living in the city. I live in a small town now and would just look like I'm trying too hard. LOL!

  17. This is really nice. You have a great fashion sense. I love to carry your style but I don't like to carry a huge bag. I always prefer clutch purse. Please have a look and suggest me Is this Alysse Sterling Cora Clutch purse is fine for this outfit.
