My 3 Favourite Accessories Trends For This Winter

Accessories are the perfect finishing touch to the wearer's outfit. This season, we have seen a lot of trends in the accessories department come and stay and I am loving in particular 3 different ones. From street style to A-listers, these trends have been everywhere in one shape or another and here are my current favourites, which I can definitely see myself wearing for the many cold months ahead!

Your Ultimate Boots Guide For This Winter

If you've been following me for a while now you will know how obsessed I am with boots. At the beginning of fall, I had a huge clear out which was very much in order as I could not fit one extra pair of shoes in my storage but with all the recent PR samples lately, my collection has definitely overgrown again (hey, I'm not complaining and as long as I get to wear all of them, I'm happy!). Personally, I try to avoid overly trendy pairs as I know I probably won't maximise their wear, and instead opt for pairs that go with a variety of outfits and these are the ones I want to show you today! I've featured most of these on the blog already so let's recap, shall we?!

Hello December with #MyLOTD

You will probably hear the next few words a lot these new few weeks and I know they're totally cliché but seriously, where has the year gone? We are already in the last month of the year and I can remember very vividly sitting where I am right now typing up December posts last year! A lot has happened since then and 2017 will be a year to remember for both the good and bad things it brought. The good outweighs the bad of course (I got married!) but I am so ready for December (read Christmas), upcoming trips and birthdays, and for the new year; who's with me?

A Winter Classic: Fur & Leather (Faux Of-Course)

The name of this post says it all, fur and leather, both faux, is a true winter classic combination. Faur fur is one of those winter trends that will always be around in one form or another. From big and fuzzy fur coats to gilets like the one I am wearing, the way is to snuggle up in faux fur to make a statement. Best yet, not only does it you keep you right on trend but also very warm (which is exactly what I need these days as it is freezing!).

Maybelline Superstay 7 Days Gel Nail Color: 7-Day Promise True?

After 3 months of non-stop shellac, it was time to give my nails (and my bank account) a break. As much as I love Essie as a brand for nail polish, you will agree with me that it isn’t the most affordable, so I knew a trip to Boots to find something equally as good but for a lower price tag was in order. Probably mission impossible, but after speaking to a colleague of mine and commenting on how nice her nails looked (and how horrible mine were), she mentioned how great the Maybelline varnishes were and I thought I'd give them a try, and with the 3 for 2 offer that Boots always seem to have running, it was a no-brainer. I've featured my more recent manis on Instagram and a lot of you have commented on how pretty the shades were and wanting to know more about the range in general, so here is my comprehensive review on the range!

Head-to-Toe in Burgundy

One colour that is always associated with fall is burgundy and year after year I seem to love it even more. It is one those colour that doesn't get old and you know that for many winters ahead, it is the one you can trust to return stronger than ever. This season, red tones have marked a strong presence in fashion, dominating autumn/winter 2017 shows with brands such as Givenchy, Max Mara and Gucci sending down the runways wine, red and all-burgundy looks. I love a bit of blood or cherry red for fall, but if the thought of wearing these rather bright shades is a little too much,  not only is burgundy a universally flattering shade, it is super versatile and easy to pair with other colours as it goes well with black, grey and white. And if you're into the burgundy colour like me, do it head-to-toe too!

5 Beauty Goodies That I Love (And You're Going To Too!)

It's been a while since I've talked anything beauty related over on this blog of mine and today that is about to change. Despite shying away from the subject these past few months, I have continued to try new products, most of which landed on my doorstep. I have tried to contain myself for about a year now and not buy unessential things, only replacing products that run out and goodies I can really justify the need (or "the want"). Which is why I am glad to have found new favourites amongst the load I received and today I wanted to share these with you. Keep on reading to find out what products I've been loving lately!

How To Style a Velvet Blazer This Season

Good news for those who added velvet pieces to their wardrobe last season or in case you missed it last fall, the look is back (and better!) for another year. Velvet continues to permeate the wardrobes of A-listers, from Kendall to Amy Adams and it is a particularly hot fabric for red-carpet affairs throughout the colder months. I personally love the trend on a blazer jacket, as it is truly the easiest way to wear the trend, plus it allows for layering which is absolutely necessary given the weather lately (woke up to one degree Celsius today, say what?!). Here's how to style a velvet blazer this season, no matter what the occasion may be!

Hot Right Now: Chenille, Mustard & Corduroy

If there is one thing I've been doing this fall a lot more than previous years is wear more colour. Despite rocking all-black ensembles for work pretty much every day of the work week, when playtime comes around I want to inject some much-needed colour into my outfits. Which is why I am LOVING the fact that black and grey knits are things of the past and instead, gorgeous yellow and red tones are very much in fashion this fall. Love, love, love!

Over-The-Knee Boots: A Trend That Isn't Going Anywhere

When I think of trends that have been particularly popular these past few fall seasons, over-the-knee boots come to mind. They were hot in 2016, and they are sticking around, stronger than ever for this chilly season, and rightfully so. Over the knee boots are undoubtedly sexy, paired with all sorts of outfits and if you've been following me for a while, you will know how much I love them. I've talked endlessly here on the blog about them, and here is yet another post. The good news is, they're so versatile this is why I keep bringing them back in all these different outfits; there is a multitude of ways on how to wear them. For this outfit, I was inspired by the fall leaves (yet again, seen this outfit here yet?), keeping the colour palette simple and neutral.

Matching The Fall Leaves: Rust Coat Outfit

I don't know about you but I am so over black, grey and navy for the colder months. This season it seems that colour has stuck around and lovely green and mustard tones are exceptionally trendy. Which is why when I was on the search for a new coat, I knew I desperately wanted to add some colour to my coat collection, previously dominated by boring shades like black and its variations. I also knew I didn't want anything too expensive as I prefer to replace my coats every year by giving them to charity and picking up something brand new. There is only one place for coats (or pretty much anything) on sale at this time of year, and that's Lovethesales.com. I talked about this website previously here, when I picked up a few summer bits I could make work for fall and this website has seriously become a firm favourite, not only of mine but the whole family (who doesn't love a good bargain?).

The Check Blazer Trend & How To Style It

Call it the Prince of Wales print, plaid or check, this is one heck of a trend that isn't going anywhere anytime soon! Hot since September when NYFW was well under way, this trend was and will continue to be spotted everywhere. Alongside the other trends I mentioned in my latest post called "3 Trends to Wear Now and Right Through the Fall Season", the check print isn't exactly breaking any grounds, but it is a fun way to try a more masculine print otherwise left for our dads and grandpas. Check blazers and coats are particularly popular, selling out from left and right and I know this because I was after one myself. From budget-friendly options from Zara to splurge options from high-end designers, this is the stuff that fashion girls are actually going to be wearing this season, and not just another trend we saw on the runway.

Pearl Embellishments are a Hit This Autumn

Forget diamonds, pearls are a girl's best friends this fall! This season, pearls aren't just for the ladies who lunch but instead, have had a makeover to make them more contemporary cool. When we think of pearls, we instantly think of necklaces and earrings, so generally jewellery, but this season it is all about pearl embellishments on clothing, accessories and even footwear. Autumn Winter 2017 runways saw pearls beautify all kinds of attire, from designers such as Ellery to Huishan Zhang. And as with any trend, it has not wasted any time in hitting our favourite high street shops. From pearly shirts at Mango to gorgeous red patent pearl boots from Kurt Geiger, pearls are a hit this autumn and here is how I styled this trend!

3 Trends To Wear Now And Right Through The Fall Season

A new season is like a brand new day, a brand new week, when you're ready for fresh starts. The beginning of fall is exciting, not only because our favourite holidays get nearer with every sleep, but also because fashion always has something fresh and cool in store for us. This season is no different and a new wave of trends is making its way to our favourite high streets shops and soon enough, if they haven't yet, they will be entering our closets. With this in mind, today I wanted to talk about 3 trends that are widely available on the high street at the moment, making them affordable (especially if you're not ready to splash out on a whole new wardrobe just yet) and wearable. Not only are these trends the perfect examples on how to transition from summer to autumn, but are also must have styles you're going to be loving the entire longevity of fall.

White Boots: Will You Be Wearing Them?

There are many boot trends we can expect to see this season, and I must say I am a fan of most of them (minus the slouch boots, what are those things?!) but let's talk about white boots today because despite originally thinking they'd be really hard to pull off, I cannot seem to stop wearing them!

3 Easy Ways to Cosy Up Your Home This Autumn

Ah, the beauty of fall is here to stay and now that I have my own space, I can't wait to decorate it for a more autumnal feel. Given I got married during springtime, my house has since then been incredibly colourful because is there any better way to do summer decor? I think not! Hence, this is my first time doing my own decor for the colder days ahead and needless to say my Christmas wishlist is already huge; a new tree, ornaments, all the tartar print decor, fairy lights, snow globes, you name it! For now, though I have to content myself with slightly less themed decor bits because one may say it's a bit early for all the Santa stuff to be coming out, but I still want my home to feel more cosy, warm and nice to look at. Which is why, when Uncommongoods.com invited me to check out their amazing collection, this post was like a light bulb moment. I know I know, this sort of thing has been done a million times before and none of these ideas is exactly groundbreaking but I still want to write about them so here I am! I hope you enjoy these 3 ideas on how to make your home cosier this fall, let's go!

Styling An Oversized Denim Jacket For the Cold Weather Ahead

You can't beat a cool light wash denim jacket for spring, but for autumn an oversized piece is a great alternative, allowing for layering and lots of room for cozy sweaters underneath. Oversized denim jackets have that vintage feel to them as if you bought it two sizes too big or borrowed (more like took and will never return) it from your other half. It is easy to wear and goes with pretty much anything, what's not to love?!

They were a hit a couple of years back and have already crept their way back into the wardrobes of all the cool kids. Whilst dungarees are particularly fun for spring and summer, this season is all about layering whilst keeping a feminine and cool feel to the look. Sport Fashion Made Luxe For Fall

Designers have been obsessed with the sports luxe trend for a few seasons now and it looks like it's here to stay. We were (and maybe still are) obsessed with white tennis trainers, logo tees and backpacks are more popular than ever as we have swapped classier pieces for sporty alternatives. The idea is all about luxe sportswear that will never be near a treadmill but sit in harmony with the rest of our wardrobe. Pieces such as a satin and embroidered bomber jacket and sweatpants made of luxurious fabrics are perfect examples and when I saw these trousers from tobi.com I knew I had to have them!

The Zara Coat That Went Absolutely Viral

We've all seen the weather reports, summer is pretty much over and we all know it. It was nice whilst it lasted (barely 2 seconds) and the UK prepares itself for more rain and cool winds. But, call me crazy because I am super excited for autumnal fashion! With autumn and transitioning from summer to fall in mind, I bring you today's outfit. Every day I leave the house at around 6:30 am and it is always a little chilly which means I've had to take out my light coats and begin to wear them again (wearing a coat in August seems ridiculous doesn't it?!). It may seem premature as summer technically is supposed to last until late August but I'm already dreaming of all the chunky knits and layers...I told you I'm crazy! I may or may not have also added a few pairs of boots to my collection (thanks to the sales) and I can't wait to show you those in upcoming posts! This Zara coat is one my go-to when I need that extra layer in the morning during the week but here's how to style it for the weekend too!

Planning a Wedding? Let Me Help! Here Are My Wedding Details!

Almost 4 months ago I was standing at the altar, across my best friend saying "I do" and what a magical day it was. The weather had been terrible all week, yet on that day the sun shone, unlike anything you would see in April. The day went all according to plan, no surprises, no unplanned events and everything looked and felt amazing. Which is why today I thought I'd reminisce a little and look back at all of my wedding details. Details can be easily overlooked but they add up to making the day feel whole and a lot of work goes into them. For all the brides out there currently planning their big days and looking for a little help (trust me, I know how overwhelming this can be), these bits of information might help you out as I will also be listing some contacts and supplier names. And if you're not planning a wedding just yet, join me in oohing and aahing at these gorgeous shots!

Sardinia Summer Travel Diary: Top 5 Beaches

After what seemed like the longest weekend ever (not in a good way as hubby was in the hospital), I am finally able to sit down and write this up, and I have really been looking forward to doing so! If you didn't already know, we holidayed in Sardinia last month for our honeymoon and it was simply put, the best holiday we have ever had. Last week, I shared with you a quick review of the three hotels we stayed in during our time there, and you can check that out here. As promised, this is probably going to be a three-part series, and today I wanted to talk about what to do and more especially which beaches and activities are a must whilst you're there. Sardinia despite being an island is quite large and its coastline is extremely extensive so these are among the 5 best places we went to nearby Olbia, which is in the northeast of the island. I hope this helps if you'e ever planning on a (totally worth it!) or maybe it will just give you major holiday blues, like I am feeling at the moment just by looking at these pictures!

Pink Culottes & Embroidered Mesh

This year, the colour of summer is pink and but not just any pink; not quite a pastel pink but instead a colour that lies between saturated dusky rose and blush pink. I know what you're thinking but despite being pink, it is probably one of the easiest colours to style with anything that is already in your wardrobe. It suits all skin tones and no matter where you're off to, it is always an appropriate shade, unlike other pastels, as it shows a depth that other colours just can't reach to. Watch me wear pink with leather, grey, the bluest of denims and even other pastels; I'm ready to refresh my wardrobe with the easiest colour the season (which I will wear well into fall).

Sardinia Travel Diary: Where To Stay

Narrowing down places for a honeymoon is not an easy task. Let alone choosing a specific country and town. But in my case, I knew from the beginning that I wanted to visit Italy again for my honeymoon. For those who don't know, I'm half Italian (from mum's side) and I lived in Italy 12 years ago for a whole year. I went to school there, I made and left behind many Italian friends and picked up the language rather quickly (sadly I don't speak much anymore as I'm out of practice). Time flies and to think I was 13 when I last was there, made me miss the place even more. After many weeks of consideration, the husband and I narrowed it down to two places, Sicily and Sardinia, and finally, we ended up going for the latter.

Getting Married, Back To Blogging & More: Life Update

BLOGGING
After what seemed to be very quick 3 months, I look forward to working really hard to bring this blog back to what it was before I excused myself to live the most important moment of my life. I guess you don't realise how much you miss something until you do. Imagine planning and getting married, going on your honeymoon and settling into married life, sounds like a lot right?! It really was, but I happily gave way to these priorities because I knew this space would be waiting for me when I finally decided to come back!

Our Pre-Wedding Photoshoot

I'm baaaack! I cannot describe how much I've missed this space of mine! As you may (or may not) know, I got married last Sunday and as soon as March hit I had to take a few weeks away from here to deal with all the last minute wedding preparations, moving and decorating our own place, and sorting out anything that had to be done prior to entering married life. It has been a crazy couple of weeks for sure, but also exciting ones! And now, I am so glad I am finally finding the time to sit down and put my thoughts into writing and get back to doing what I love, which is keeping this little corner of the internet updated and full of ideas! I have so much planned for the upcoming weeks and with regards to married life, I cannot wait to share with you guys everything (ok, maybe not everyyyything lol....). I hope you enjoy these marriage related posts and that you come back for more. I will throw in the mix a few fashion posts too because boy, have I missed those!

S/S 2017 Trends: Ruffles & Fuchsia

Last spring we saw a rise of Ruffles and frills on the catwalk as well as on the high street and I spoke about the trend previously here. This spring it is back and gutsiest than ever which is great news for ruffles lover me. For instance, Sarah Burton at Alexander McQueen showcased ruffles in black leather embroidered and printed with Scottish roses, which sound just as stunning as they were. Erdem, Preen, Jacquemus and 3.1 Phillip Lim were also among the number of designers keen on the style, each bringing a different take on it. But one thing they all had in common was that there is something about ruffles that seemed perfectly Victorian. I love the exaggerated leaves in garments, the ruffled high neck, ruffles along the collar bone...which is why when I saw this gorgeous denim shirt with excessive ruffling detailing and this throat-constricting neckline, I knew it had to mine. As soon as I spotted this shirt I knew I was onto something. Not only have I worn this a couple of times already (I only got it last week!) but I strongly believe this will be my go-to shirt in the upcoming sunny season! Let's see how I paired it!

3 Mistakes You Are Probably Making When Applying Mascara

Apart from looking like a mad woman with my eyes (and mouth) wide open when applying it, I am guilty of a few common mistakes we probably all make when it comes to applying the one product we love the most, mascara! You will agree with me that mascara pulls everything together. It can hide dodgy eyeliner (I’m certainly guilty of those), it can make you look more awake, it can give the look a more dramatic finish and we honestly can't get enough of it! With the hundreds of mascaras I've got sitting on my vanity table, I am guilty of making these mistakes with every single one of them. When I recently learned about these mistakes I decided to bring them to the blog and help out a fellow blogger/reader. So here goes, 3 mistakes you are probably making when applying mascara.

How I Keep My Hair Long & Healthy

My hair has to be one of my most complimented features (my skin is a close second and y'all must be blind to be saying it is flawless haha) on Instagram and blog photos. Which is why, I decided to dedicate an entire post to it and in it give a few tips on how I keep it clean, healthy and protected. Back in 2015, I wrote about my favourite haircare products at the time and whilst the principles still stand, I am doing a few things differently and I believe these changes to have made a massive difference. Today I am much more focused on my internal well-being rather than on the products and something I learned recently is that whilst using the wrong products can result in hair damage and loss, the trick to truly healthy hair has more to do with what goes into your body than styling products and hours spent in front of a mirror. Hair loss, dullness, and slow growth often comes from the absence of nutrients in your body or bad habits. After a bit of research on my end, here are some tips I found if you're looking to keep your hair long and healthy like I am.

Inexpensive Valentine's Day Ideas

Valentine's Day is coming up but of course, you already know that. Annoyingly the date falls on a Tuesday which is a work day and usually a gym night for me but never mind. Now, Valentine's Day can be a little overwhelming and I bet you're asking yourself a few of these questions; "what shall I wear?", "what will I get him/her?", "where are we going for dinner?". So many decisions to make, not to mention what an expensive day it turns out to be! Don't Break Your New Year's Resolution: Keeping Fit The Right Way

"I am going to be fit this year."
"I am going to eat clean and workout."
"I am going to lose weight and get back in shape."

Who hasn't put this one resolution on their list for 2017? Year after year, the top two New Year's resolutions made are to 1. to get fit, and 2. to lose weight. If either of those is on your to-do list, good for you! Keeping fit is vital and you should not be putting it off until next month or heck, next year. If however, your motivation levels have already drastically dropped you're probably doing this whole fit life wrong. The scramble to lose weight and get fit in the beginning of the year is always a given, and the gym industry reaps all the benefits. But did you know that 4% of new gym goers don't even make it past the end of January and 14% drop out in February? Do you wanna be part of this percentage? I didn't think so! I've been there before myself and yes you save gym money which you can spend on clothes and food, but in the long-run, you know you would have been better off working out with no drop outs. With this in mind, today I bring you 5 tips which massively help me staying focused and motivated!

My Fail-Safe Winter Look: Jumper, Puffa & OTK Boots

I wake up and I'm instantly drawn to open my weather app. I know what it will tell me but one can only hope for an early spring, am I right?! Having said that, winter fashion is my favourite by far. Whilst it is not favourite to shoot blog photos in, I love dressing in big chunky knits, all the pretty boots I can totally justify buying as well as taking out my coat selection out for a spin (although I always end up wearing the same one all week...go figure). Which is why when Bows Boutiquess invited me to check out their New In winter range I couldn't type a reply fast enough. I had seen the store name come up on my Facebook feed, on those adverts, and I remember loving those big furry coats the models were always sporting. I, of course, never pass a good chance to add winter pieces to my wardrobe and narrowing down to what I wanted from the huge selection was sure tough, but I got there in the end! I thought to myself, what is a fail-safe winter look that is me and perfect for this sort of weather. With that in mind, in my basket it went a chunky knit jumper, a cosy (and waterproof may I add) jacket with faux fur and suedette OTK boots, because one can never have too many pairs o those. I told I am obsessed with these pairings.

Balancing It All: Working, Blogging & Wedding Planning

It is quite noticeable how quieter it has been around here lately. Since November 2016, I've not put out there the usual number of posts I used to do every month and that is totally ok. I am not saying this is a bad thing at all, because I honestly do not think it is. Happy 25th Birthday To Me

25 aka quarter of a century. Maybe turning 25 won't be so bad. I can still choose if I want to be wise and mature, or young and care-free. I have every excuse to have a quarter life crisis. 25 means lower car rental rates (even if I don't have a driver's license lol). I can totally justify buying expensive cosmetics; gotta keep that skin young! I am still a "young adult" and have 15 years before "middle age". 30 is the new 20, haven't you heard?! I'll always be ten days older than my future husband but I still look pretty young for my age. I get to celebrate with pizza, family and friends, and most importantly cake!

My 2017 Skincare Resolutions

If I told you I took care of my skin extremely well in 2016, I'd be lying. I know our skin is our body's largest organ and that it serves as a protective barrier between our insides and the rest of the world, and it helps regulate body temperature and acts as a filter. Yet, I am as lazy as one can be when it comes to treating my skin right and am often neglecting it from what it really needs. I often forget to give my skin as much care and attention as it deserves and this year I need to make a change. I am not just referring to facial skincare which I've improved a lot lately thankfully, but also body-care which is my biggest challenge as I very much dislike moisturising every day even though I really should. Thankfully my skin isn't too dehydrated but I can only imagine how much better it would look and feel if I actually gave it some TLC. I am now aware that my skin works 24/7 to protect my body from harsh weather (which we seem to get a lot in the UK this time of year), UV rays, injuries, pain and a host of other unpleasant sensations. Setting aside a few minutes each day to tend to my skin seems a small price I will have to pay and these are my 2017 skincare resolutions.

10 Winter 2017 Wardrobe Essentials You Must Have

January is here and inevitably, we are heading into the thick of winter. This winter is set to be one of the worst in years (although they do say that every year, don't they?!) and if there is one season you need to prep your wardrobe for, this is it. Despite little chance of snow or any sort of polar vortexes, fog and chilly weather is coming our way even more so and there are a few things you need to have in your closet to get you through this time. I don't know about you, but I'd rather be really hot than at any moment feel cold so I am prepared! With this in mind I've picked my 10 winter wardrobe essentials that will cover all bases. And no, I'm not just talking about coats and knitwear because that'd be too easy. I am also adding a few chic ideas because yes you can look good and warm during winter too!

Winter 2017 Fashion Trends: Black & White Classic

When is sleek and sophisticated monochrome not on trend? Black and white specially is my favourite combination and put together, the shades always look modern and fresh. Wearing black and white head-to-toe is the easiest formula for a put-together look. Whether you are going for a white dress and black accessories, or a white top with black pants; it is hard to mess up this timeless colour combination. Best yet, there are no needs to worry about coordinating accessories since black and white pretty much go hand in hand with anything.

2016 Fashion Trends: My Posts Recap

Happy New Year beauties and welcome back to pamscalfi.com! I hope everyone has enjoyed their time off for Christmas and New Year! I know I've not been around much these past few days but a break was in order. I had been stretching myself thin for a while and desperately needed a break from work and blogging to be able to fully relax, recharge my batteries and enjoy time with family and friends, and I am overjoyed I did just that. 2016 was a busy year for me with scarce holidays, so when the holiday season came around I knew this was going to be "me time". I, of course, missed this place like crazy thinking of the posts you guys were publishing and that I was missing but I am back now and glad to report things will be going back to normal. When I say normal I do need to remind myself that I have a wedding coming up in 3 months or so, so I will not promise the usual 3 posts per week I did last year. But the main goal in terms of blogging this year is to give fashion blogging my best shot seeing I have learned so much about it in 2016 and it has truly  become my passion! I have so much to share with you all in this space and I hope 2017 can be the year I get to do it. And to start things off I am looking back at all of my fashion posts from 2016; I can't believe there were 30 posts which is amazing compared to only 18 in 2015. Let's review!
