Nail It: Must Have Spring Nail Polish Shades

Despite not being very good at doing my nails, I love doing them regularly. There is something about freshly painted nails, especially if they are bright and colourful, that always puts me in a better mood! Albeit the weather has been a tad temperamental recently, playing with nail colours always cheers me up and brightens up those rainy/cold supposedly "spring" days.

Maybelline Dream Velvet: The Matte Hydrating Foundation

If I had to pick 2 things I like trying out the most, these would be foundation and mascara. Needless to say, these are what I have the most of in my stash, only losing to eyeshadow because who doesn't have endless amounts of shades anyway?! Which is why, being the foundation addict I am I knew I had to try the newest foundation in the drugstore world. It is no surprise I love everything and anything Maybelline and I have yet to find a product that seriously disappoints me, so their new foundation that claims to be hydrating yet matte was on my shopping list on a recent Boots visit.

Think Pink: How To Wear The Season's Trickiest Eye Colour

A few years back I wouldn't dare to wear pink clothes, let alone pink eyeshadow. Fast forward a few years, my style has definitely had a turn towards being more feminine and cute and what could be more feminine and cute than a touch of pink. Which is why when Pantone announced the colours of 2016 I was rather pleased to hear Rose Quartz was the colour I'd be seeing more of this year. I instantly knew how to put together a Rose Quartz and Serenity Outfit, but the question that remained was how to apply this trend in a make-up look.

I WANT: Fashion Spring Wishlist

High Neck Jumper // Midi Skirt // Stripe Dress // Gypsy Blouse // Mini Skirt // Cold Shoulder
Despite having a closet full of clothes that can barely close, every time I have a look online for new season inspiration, my wishlist just manages to grow and grow. My favourites places to shop at the moment are Matalan (which you know I've loved for years now), H&M which is pretty new to me as I never shopped there and good old Asos that manages to have everything we need in one place.

Ready And Prime: Favourite Primers for Combination Skin

Gone are the days a proper make-up face was done without the use of a primer. I remember using my first primer; the Rimmel London one with that blue cap and whilst it wasn't the best primer in the world, at the time my make-up felt fresher than before, lasted a lot longer and those little pores around my nose were a lot more diminished. Ever since, I've tried my fair share of different primers hoping to find the "one" and I actually ended up with 4 favs that work pretty well on my skin.

My Hair's New BFF: Irresistible Me Diamond Hair Styling Iron

When it comes to doing my hair, especially for work, less is always…well less. With my eyes barely open and my brain still asleep, I have little to no imagination early in the morning when it comes to creating all sorts of beautiful hairstyles I lust over on Pinterest but never actually try doing. This is why when Irresistible Me, who I have spoken about before (see gorgeous hair accessories), offered to send a styling iron that would change my life I of course said yes.

What We Did for Mother's Day

Despite the family feeling poorly throughout the weekend (and still as I write this), we all pulled ourselves together, threw aside the snotty tissues and hot bottles and made our way out to celebrate Mother's day, as it should be done. The day started with flowers and what a beautiful bouquet my fiancé got for her on behalf of all of us. Admittedly, we didn't buy her a gift but that's because the woman has everything she needs nor she is too bothered about gifts, so instead we thought we would treat her to something different.

Mum cooks, cleans, does our laundry and more, so on Mother’s day we wanted one of these to be out of the equation and took her out to eat instead. At first, when Ocean Loans contacted me and asked me to treat mum to something nice this Mother's Day, I wanted to take her to Sketch London (I even instagrammed a beautiful photo of the restaurant here @pamella_scalfi) but given the state of healthy around the house, none of us were really up for it on Friday (the only day available for a booking). After hopelessly searching for a restaurant (yes we are last minute kind of people) I booked a Brazilian Barbecue Restaurant I had been to once before on my 18th Birthday. We don't usually go to these grills very often (mostly because they are not the cheapest in town), but not having to worry about finances thanks to Ocean Loans, not only I took mum with me but also the entire family!

We indulged into all of the delicious food Rodizio Preto had to offer and it almost looked like we weren't sick at all given the amount of food we all consumed. Rodizio Preto is all about the skewers of sizzling meats carved at the table, making it the Brazilian dining experience to try and a must for meat lovers. Not only can you choose between 15 different cuts of spit roasted meats, the buffet contains salads, pastas, rice and the famous “Feijoada” and “Feijao”, all freshly made and very authentic. With an all-you-can-eat buffet, we tried a little bit of everything and I'm happy to report that the flavours were spot on, they reminded us of home and made the day truly special.

We left the restaurant pretty stuffed and it most definitely put us all in a better mood. We had a great lunch out and I could see in mum's eyes how happy she was to be surrounded by her family and have everyone enjoy something with her. It’s true what they say, mother's day should be everyday but it's nice to treat her once in a while and not take for granted the time we do spend together. I hope you had fun Mamãe!

What did you guys do for mother's day? Let me know below!
Thanks for reading and have a nice week ahead!

Journey to Owning a Chanel Bag: Part 1

Today's post was supposed to be about the beginning of Spring (the word that is literally music to my ears) but I decided instead to confess and write about something I've been obsessing over these past few months. I have decided that, despite getting married next year, having plans of owning a house, a new car and various other expenses married life will bring, I too will save up for a Chanel bag. Yes, you can start judging me.

When it comes to designer items, my wardrobe contains very few of them. I'm not one to usually fuss over expensive items but a Chanel bag is something I've dreamed for quite sometime (as I'm sure many other women have too) and having recently started looking for the one, I have discovered a passion for the design, the quality and basically, the entire thing.

I know what  you're thinking, its price tag is quite absurd and I totally agree. It is a lot of money (price range  of the ones I've seen £1800 to £2700- pre-owed) for a bag but I'm thinking of it as an investment (because prices are only going to go up as time goes by) and it will be a bag that will literally last forever. Being so, it will be passed to my daughter, granddaughter and so on; it will almost become a family tradition after all a Chanel is for life (I'm not exaggerating, am I?). Not only, will it never go out of style, if I needed to sell it one day (knock on wood), I'd probably make most of my money back. Ok, maybe these are all reasons I keep telling myself, and the future hubby, why I should buy one but let's move on.

When purchasing something so expensive, planning and patience are extremely important, as is doing your homework aka research. I have yet to find the exact design I want, the seller (I will most likely go for a second hand one), the ideal price tag and decide how to go about stripping this large sum from my bank account. It could be a few months from now, or a few years (hopefully the former rather than the latter) but I am in no rush; when the time is right and I can afford it without having to cut back on necessities I will treat myself  and it will probably be the only treat I will get for years to come afterwards lol.

Thus, this post marks the beginning of my rather long Journey to Owning a Chanel Bag series, and I will update as I see fit going forward with information around this topic and my progress (I hear Chanel lovers become experts on the subject). In the meantime, I content myself with the already large handbag collection I own. Granted there are a few Chanel "inspired" here and there but can you really blame me? I honestly have no problem with inspired bags so if you too like the look of a Chanel but can't quite afford it like me just yet, check these out:

If you have any advice or opinion over the subject let me know below! And if you have a Chanel, tell us everything! Whilst you're at it wish me good luck, I will need it! Thanks for reading beauties and wishing everyone has an amazing weekend ahead!

Valentina Sustainable Jewellery: Raising Funds For Good Causes

Leo's Oscar speech and reading more about Valentina has really made me think more about the world we are living in and its current situation. With the economy cooled and the planet heating up (global warming is real you guys!), everyone needs to do their bit when it comes to cutting down on waste and making the fullest of what we have. With that in mind, I was more pleased to hear from Valentina and find out more about their beautiful jewellery designs.
