My Autumn Beauty Must Haves

When I think of which beauty products to go for in the fall I think of lots and lots of moisturisers to sort out my dry skin, lip balms to avoid chapped lips and heavy duty face creams to ensure my skin is always nourished. I also love wearing darker shades for the lips and eyes; burgundy and wine lipstick shades, and gold/metallic eyeshadows in particular are my favourite. So today I thought I'd share a few new goodies I have been playing around with lately and which are going to be just perfect for fall.

Let's start with this Essie Wedding Collection Limited Edition Nail Polish Set* I received at the Wedding Show with Debenhams I attended last weekend. I know what you're thinking and I realise the shades don't particularly scream fall, but I have been loving softer nail colours and these will come in handy for when I want a break from the darker shades I usually go for. From left to right we have: Hubby For Dessert (a pale lavender), Vanity Fairest ( a shimmery sheer pastel pink) and Brides No Grooms (a bachelorette-bright pink), see swatch above. I currently have Hubby For Dessert on my toes but nobody wants to see that right?! If you know me you will know I adore all things Essie and their polishes are some of my most long lasting ones. These aren't any different and even though the lighter shades require 3 coats, these sit well and look extremely pretty on my nails. I am obsessed and will definitely have to track down the full sized bottles of these shades once I run out (which at this rate won't be very far in the future).

Moving on to lip products, before I went on holiday (see Travel Dairy part 1, 2 and 3) I received these lip glosses from Nu Skin, who I've talked about before here. They've recently added more products to their make-up range and these lip glosses are some of the new additions. I usually hate lip glosses, especially if they're sticky and thick but with these I have no problem whatsoever. From left to right we have Tender Beige*, a perfect brown nude which has become a work go-to lip shade for me, and Sweet Pink*, a fall perfect berry shade. These shiny glosses define and contour lips, and help achieve full, shapely lips which we all want. Plus, thanks to its collagen building ingredients, I know I won't be suffering from dry lips this season. I love wearing them on their own as well as over lipsticks. they last surprisingly well and are very comfortable to wear. Thumbs up to Nu Skin!

Another parcel I got in September contained goodies from Precious About Makeup (PAM, coincidence? I think not!), an online store for professional make-up artists offering pro brands like Makeup For Ever, Ben Nye and MUD. First up, I received the MUD Eye Colour Compact in Cajun Spice*, a warm, shimmering copper eyeshadow which is unrealistically pigmented. The shadow is velvety, buttery and everything you look for in an eye colour. These aren't cheap (coming in at £14.95 each) but as soon as you swatch it you can see its amazing quality which makes me think they are worth every penny!

The second goodie is MUD Lipstick in Blackberry*, a deep berry-wine lipstick shade which is one of my favourite colours for fall! Just like the shadow, this lipstick is seriously pigmented and best yet, its non-drying formula means I get a smooth opaque matte finish that is comfortable to wear and long lasting. Needless to say, this has not left my bag and it's been on my lips on repeat. I confess I had not heard about MUD before but I now seriously want to try more and I know where to get it from, PAM here I come!

And last but not least, a powder I picked up on a whim on a recent Boots trip and one I have not been able to put down ever since. I had been using the Vichy Dermablend since my review in April and it finally ran out so I thought I'd buy another but it wasn't in stock. I turned to NYX and found the Mineral Finishing Powder in Light/Medium which seemed close enough; little did I know it was even better than the Vichy one. This powder sits extremely well on top of my foundation and concealer and lasts throughout my entire work day (8 hours), even on days my skin is a little oilier than usual which weirdly, also happens during fall. It gives me flawless complexion and soft as a baby's bottom skin, and the hint of colour also helps when I need that little extra coverage. And whilst I know this isn't a fall product per se, it comes in handy as it yields a matte finish yet a fresh and radiant skin look and who doesn't want that, particularly when you haven't seen the sun in weeks?!

Tell me, which are your favourite fall products at the moment? Let me know below if you've tried any of these before!
Thanks for reading beauties and wishing us a happy Monday!

xoxo

  28. I loved the PAM parcel :) That is not a coincidence at all :) I love Essie too, and like you said, for autumn or winter metallic eye shadows and burgundy/wine lipsticks are really great! I liked the lip glosses you showed, they look beautiful and avoid chapped lips. The names of the polishes, I almost forgot to mention, so nice :) Hubby for Dessert, among other names, so nice! Mud is also new to me and I liked the packaging! I bet the products are nice as well, blackberry sounds like a beautiful lipstick color! Hope you have a very beautiful day, dear Pam!
